US snubs Poland over WW II ceremony?

26.08.2009 11:02

Five days before the commemoration ceremony of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II in Poland, Washington has yet to announce who is going to represent the US administration.

Polish officials had been led to believe the US would be represented by Vice-President Joe Biden or Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. But Prime Minister Donald Tusk seems to have lost all hope that the Obama administration will be sending a high-level official to the ceremony - to be attended by Chancellor Merkel, Prime Minister Putin and other heads of government and state at Gdansk - on September 1.

Talking to reporters after a cabinet session, Tuesday, PM Tusk said: ‘Some countries are not sending high-level delegations. This is true of the United States as well.’

Andrzej Przewoznik, Head of the Council for the Protection of the Memory of Struggle and Martyrdom, who is in charge of the organization of the commemoration ceremony, has said: ‘All foreign delegations have informed us who is to lead their delegations. The United States is the only exception. I am astonished,” he said.

I to am of Polish decent with both of my paternal grandparents coming to America by way of Ellis Island. In addition, my late wife was born in Poland. They are a fiercely proud people who have endured much suffering at the hands of their neighbors. They have been attacked by fascists, communists, and colonized yet still survived due to a never bending faith in themselves and in God.

Its a tragic day in America when we can not even muster the common sense to show our basic respect for our staunchest Allie in Europe who fought on the side of freedom while at the same time kowtowing to every tin pan dictator, terrorist and whack job who ever walked the face of the earth. Its down right amazing how much has changed in such a short period of time.

> Thug obuma will never acknowledge that because Poland is filled with evil white people, and those people resisted obuma’s heroes in the communist and Nazi movements.

Poland’s also chock-full of Catholics, which are Obama’s sworn enemies as their very existence, faith, souls and beings run contrary to his Abortion and Euthanasia plans.

Polish Army during WW2 was the 4th biggest among the allies (after Soviet, American and British).

And for all that, in the end, the Allies let Poland get swallowed up by the Soviet sphere of influence.

Can’t get rid of an impression, that you both are very right about the reasons of Obama’s attitude towards Poland.

This is a typical example of O’s ‘intelligent diplomacy’.

Insult all allies and friends and kiss the a$$ of the murderous muslim world.

Cheney should go on his own initiative. He certainly would be received more warmly than any socialist sent by the phuking Kenyan Poseur.

That would actually be a brilliant political maneuver. Even better would be for Cheney to attend and publicly apologize to the Poles, to reassure them that the American people recognize and appreciate their sacrifices, and admonish the Obama regime for insulting an ally.

If Obama dared to criticise him for it, just throw it back in his face that Obama himself has set the example by his multiple apology tours all over the world asking forgiveness for "America's sins".

What we can expect from a ‘leader’ who has no concept of American History other than slavery and the civil rights movement.

It’s an extreme pity. The Poles are good people and they are America’s friend. They suffered migthtily in WW2 and after. They deserve better, but I am sure the Poles can figure out why they are being treated this way.

Poland is a Christian country that stands for freedom, individualism and opposes tyranny, with a past of fearlessly resisting facism; of course the ‘Bama depises it.
