Senator Ted Kennedy has died.
That too.
One obvious point - he certainly didn't write that letter attributed to him last week asking the legislature to change the Senate succession rules.
I wonder who did, and why?
Well, I imagine that he’s now standing before St. Peter trying to explain Chappaquiddick and how he really did not mean to swim away and let May Jo die just to save his own sorry hide.
You are truly an Angel and Your Mom did well:-)
Todya will be tough, with the gushing forth of words of praise, likening to opening the spigots of every Scotch Brewery in Scotland:-) “and it be barely enough to quench The Senator’s Thirst”
Ding Dong the ......well, you know how the little ditty goes.
And as an escapee from the Peoples Socialist Republic of Massachuetts that may backfire....
My 1st trip to the the midwest where people gathered from all over the place was an eye opener. I thought I had bad breath. I'd talk to people and the minute they found out I was from MA they left. It took a while to figure out.
The point is, many folks like us may have an anti-MA bias, because, of Ted, Dukakis etc.
That will only fuel more resistance.
Not to be macabe, but Ted was not the only frail Dem Senator, Bird has not been heard from much these days and their are 33 other Dems over 70 in the Senate. They need to pass this kludge fast before the good Lord calls more of them home, that is if he decides to do so.....
So who will get more coverage. Michael Jackson or Ted Kennedy? Forget about any other news till at least the beginning of September. The coverage will be immense. Stories from his youth to his final vote in the Senate. Will he get a private funeral or a very public one with both sides of the isle invited. I pray for his soul as I prayed for the soul of any human whose time has ended here on Earth. I pray that he truly made peace with God and is accepted into Heaven.
Now, what’s for breakfast.
Almost 47, actually (if he made it to November).
No suprise there....will expect he will declare week of mourning and give all a federal holiday...(ok maybe not)
Thanks, Springman.
I got the news first from you. Nice scoop. No more to say about this.
The SRM will be all about Kennedy, ObaMao’s “vacation”, Hurricane whatever, that is veering North, 1000 miles from land and any and all “controversy” over who will replace the “great” Senator from mASSachusetts.
Then, come September, we get railroaded and they pass Health care and Crap and Tax by a simple majority within a week or less. And Pelosi will turn out the lights and go on another World tour of Socialist Europe. (Where she feels so welcome and connected.)
I suppose the health care bill will be renamed in his “honor” probably at John McCain’s suggestion.
He was clearly a man of wealth and privilege who used those assets in a classless, vulgar way, typical of the dark under belly we see in the entire limousine leftist arrogance.
you mean that’s not what it is?!?!?
With no pay.

One should tell the truth, period. Maryjo Kopechne’s death certainly didn’t shut the Hiccup up or even slow down his drinking. I would agree with you if Kennedy had just been an ordinary jerk pols, but he wasn’t. He’s been in bed with and pumped up the unions for decades. He helped make what happened in the auto industry possible and drove whole companies out of business or to a point where the company is just there to feed the union mouths, nothing left for the investors or owners who staked every penny their family had and that they could borrow to get a production company going. He spent his career leveraging for the unions, and you see where that had taken us.
I wouldn’t be surprised.
He stayed with his abortion and screw America stance up until death, as far as we know. Given the attitude he displayed toward his deep and direct involvement in Miss Kopechne’s death, there’s no reason to think the treachery and arrogance abated as death approached.
Just like Jackson’s Never Never Land.
