Truly, I am surprised. With his money, connections, and what he must know...how did this guy end up being arrested? Sounds like another "under the bus" case, that let this happen. Maybe this guy will sing!!!

May there be many more arrests. Democrats by and large belong behind bars.

Is there anyone that is related to the Clintons or Obama that isn’t a criminal?

In 2001, at the invitation of Mobil Oil Chairman Lucio Noto, whom he counts as a "personal friend," Hassan Nemazee joined the board of the American-Iranian Council, a U.S. lobbying group that consistently has supported lifting U.S. sanctions on Iran and accommodating the Tehran regime.
Hassan Nemazee also helped establish the Iranian-American Political Action Committee (IAPAC) Because of his association with IAPAC, Hassan Nemazee was accused of serving as an agent for the Islamic government of Iran by the Student Movement Coordinating Committee for Democracy in Iran (SMCCDI)- via Crosswalk.

Hassan Nemazee, a multimillionaire Iranian-American investment banker and top Democratic Party fundraiser, was arrested today by federal law enforcement authorities in New York City and charged with engaging in criminal fraud for his role in arranging a $74 million dollar loan from Citibank, Bloomberg reported.

2003 : (IRANIAN-AMERICAN SMCCDI GROUP WRITES LETTER CALLING ON US SENATOR TED KENNEDY TO DISASSOCIATE HIMSELF FROM THE NEWLY FORMED IAPAC, WHICH THEY DESCRIBE AS A LOBBY GROUP FOR THE IRANIAN REGIME--See NEMAZEE) A group of Iranian-Americans formed the Student Movement Coordination Committee for Democracy in Iran (SMCCDI) in 1997 to oppose the radical Islamic regime. Last year [2003] they wrote an open letter calling on Senator Edward Kennedy to disassociate himself with the then-newly-formed Iranian American Political Action Committee (IAPAC), which they described as a "lobby group for a terrorist regime." The letter, signed by SMCCDI coordinator Aryo B. Pirouznia, described Hassan Nemazee as a "discredited and well-known individual who's seeking to legitimize the tyrannical Islamic Republic regime," and stated that "Nemazee's agenda and ultimate goal has been the promotion and support of relations with it."
The characterization of Nemazee as "discredited" seems to stem from some extremely dubious business dealings outlined in a 1999 Forbes Magazine article titled Warning Flags. Nemazee, then a Clinton Administration appointee for the position of U.S. Ambassador to Argentina, withdrew his name from consideration for that post shortly after the Forbes article was published.
Nemazee filed suit against the SMCCDI and Aryo Pirouznia, alleging defamation of character and denying the charge that he was an agent of the Iranian regime who was promoting that regime's interests in the U.S. The SMCCDI responded with a counter-suit against Nemazee. ------------ "The Kerry / Iran Connection: An Overview," various | October 19, 2004 | Interesting Times Posted on 10/18/2004 11:20:37 PM PDT by Interesting Times

OCTOBER 18, 2004 : ( JOHN KERRY FUNDRAISER HASSAN NEMAZE IS DEPOSED, CLAIMS HE IS FOR REGIME CHANGE IN IRAN AND IS AGAINST NORMALIZATION WITH THE REGIME, IN CONTRAST WITH JOHN KERRY'S PRO-NORMALIZATION VIEWS) Nemazee was formally deposed on October 18th, saying, remarkably, that normalizing relations with Iran would be a mistake, that Iran should not be trusted with nuclear materials, and that he favors regime change -- see Kerry Iranian fund-raiser repudiates him on Tehran.
Where does the story go from here? Does each quo have a corresponding quid? Stay tuned...-------- "The Kerry / Iran Connection: An Overview," various | October 19, 2004 | Interesting Times Posted on 10/18/2004 11:20:37 PM PDT by Interesting Times
******
Under oath, even Mr. Nemazee, John Kerry's top Iranian fund-raiser, completely repudiated John Kerry's policy. Mr. Nemazee testified that Sen. Kerry had not asked his opinion, but if the senator had asked, Mr. Nemazee would have advised that the Iranian Islamic regime cannot be trusted but to have any intention other than to build nuclear weapons. Mr. Nemazee freely agreed that the current Iranian government is a terror-exporting regime, and he openly stated his wish for regime change.
What possibly could be going on here? Did Nemazee back the wrong candidate? Please, somebody give Mr. Nemazee a telephone. He needs to call the candidate before Sen. Kerry makes a horrible mistake and gives the mad mullahs nuclear fuel.
Or, was Nemazee not stating his true position under oath? Could we be experiencing a repeat of Bill Clinton's infamous Chinagate? Was Kerry willing to trade access to nuclear technology and nuclear fuel in return for generous campaign contributions? These are important questions. Maybe the truth was spoken by Nemazee's money, not the words he uttered at his deposition. Maybe Mr. Nemazee had achieved with Sen. Kerry's nuclear policy statement in the debate result he had intended.
One thing was for sure: The liberal, mainstream media were nowhere in sight. ABC, NBC, CBS, the New York Times, and the Washington Post wanted to be as far away as possible from the Nemazee deposition ... a story that might taint their predetermined candidate. ------- John Kerry's Irangate? A spokesman for Mr. Soros said yesterday that he has not made any decision yet about who he will back in 2008. Some at the December meeting are said to be squarely in Mrs. Clinton's camp, but at least two big fund-raisers at the session, Hassan Nemazee of Nemazee Capital Corp. and Orin Kramer of Boston Provident Partners LP, have yet to declare their allegiances.

NEMAZEE CAPITAL CORP, (Zip code: 10021) $25000 to DNC-NONFEDERAL-CORPORATE on 11/14/95

``In the old days, you could go to someone and write a check for a six-figure amount,'' said Hassan Nemazee, chairman of Nemazee Capital Corp. of New York who has been asked by the Democratic National Committee to raise money. ``It's obviously a little more difficult today.''

$27,000 was given by people who identified their employer as "Nemazee Capital Corp".

It worked this way: Through a family connection with the wealthy Cisneros clan of Venezuela, Nemazee obtained a passport from Venezuela but lived there just a few months. That was evidently enough for him to call himself Hispanic. On another occasion, when his status as a minority money manager was challenged in New York, he claimed to be Asian-Indian because his father was born in Bombay.

A Dem operative arrested? I’m sure it’s all a mistake and Hitlery and Zero will make life miserable for those responsible for the arrest. In the end, this guy will skate. The only question is whether prosecutors will just drop the case or law enforcement will “accidentally” screw it up a la Wen Ho Lee, forcing the case to be dropped.
