It's called the Ammunition Accountability Act (AAA). You've got to love the name. It sounds so noble. But remember the great gun writer, Mel Tappan's, universal rule of law: "The nobler the language, the more nefarious the purpose of any legal instrument."

I found a link to this article on LewRockwell, sadly still outlawed here at FR (lots of good data out there on LewRockwell.com but anyway...). I followed the link to the original posting and read with great concern the 'back-door' gun control mechanism this would establish.
Rather perverse the talent they've cultivated for obscuring the reality of their objectives.
And this auto-excerpt leaves much to be desired.

Indeed they are. Better question: How do we manage to keep electing such ‘tards?

I agree with ammunition accountability. Make your shot count so that you can get a clean kill with one shot.

If nothing else, you have to give these anti-Constitutional Rights nuts credit for imagination.
I wonder how long some Brady Bunch fruitcake stayed awake at night to figure this Byzantine piece of horsecrap out?

If they pass this heinous legislation, they will in fact need to outlaw revolvers.

Inventive, aren't they? A little deeper into the article a democraticunderground poster is quoted as saying
"All we need is for our three gun-grabber Dem senators to go on national TV demanding states pass this bill and we Dems can kiss the presidency good bye in the general election." Which provides us with some ammunition of our own ;) Indeed, this AAA should be 'outed' for that reason.

It’s not about effective accounting.
It’s about making exercise of the right so onerous that you’ll either stop exercising it on your own, or end up in prison.

My brother owns several black powder pistols, he has several “loaded cylinders” he can change out for quick re-loading.
He can melt his own bullets and had friends who can make their own Black power if so inclined.
How is this going to stop anything....?

A good report. However, it focuses too much on the Private Criminal aspect.....I think we also need to worry more about the Public Servant aspect, myself.

NO, but it only takes black powder derringer and some guts to get yourself a Brownshirt’s rifle.
Plus if two people can make ammo fr black powder, imagine what 20 patriots can do for regular ammo.
