Ive been reading about the planned Sept. 11 National Day of Service. I certainly do not have an issue with service, but if my memory serves right and it does today we already have a national day of service Martin Luther King Day.
There has been a bit of a kerfuffle about Democrats selecting Sept. 11 as a national day of service. The event with more at Serve.gov been discussed over at Hot Air, Atlas Shrugs and Gateway Pundit, but Im wondering what this development means for the Martin Luther King national day of volunteer service?

I do NOT consider Sept 11th a “day of service” ..... I consider it a DAY OF TERRORISM....and ATTACK....to be remembered so that we fight off our evil enemies.
Here is how the Towers should be remembered;
My national day of service is going to work on Mondays.
Anothyer thoght: We need to make “Labor Day” the national day of service. After all, it kind of dumb to take a day off and call it “labor day”!
I have several questions about this “Day of Service” thing no matter when we have it.
1) Does that excuse me from serving fellow man for the rest of the year?
2) What if I pick an outdoor activity and it rains?
3) What if the “service” I want to perform takes two hours?
4) Can I buy service credits from some one less fortunate who will volunteer for me and go to the movies instead?
5) What if I already spend time volunteering/providing goods for the less fortunate in various increments over the year (aka-as it is needed by the organizations I suppor)?
April 15 is already our official national day of service.
I’m sending that out on 9-11....with the message...THIS IS HOW 9-11 should be remembered.....”Service” my A**

How quickly we forget those almost 3,000 innocent Americans who were murdered by the Islamists.
Every American should view this video made by a New Yorker who lived through the attack:

This video has been viewed by millions and is now in the Smithsonian.
The video includes the planes crashing into the buildings and victims jumping. There are pictures of many of those who lost their lives, and president Bushs aftermath speech set to the haunting background music, Only Time by Anya. Awesome.

Yes it is still Patriot Day.
