A newly declassified report, released by the US justice department, said that one interrogator had said a colleague told the al-Qaeda terrorist that if any other attacks happened in the US, "We're going to kill your children". Another interrogator allegedly tried to convince another detainee that his mother would be sexually assaulted in front of him. The interrogator later denied making the threat.

Details of the CIA report were made public on Monday. President Barack Obama has meanwhile ordered the creation of a new White House unit for interrogating terror suspects, taking responsibility away from the agency. The High-Value Detainee Interrogation Group will be run by FBI officials and follow guidelines set by the US army's field manual, which conforms to international law.

Meanwhile, our enemies didn’t merely threaten to do such things; they actually did them (murder children, rape loved ones, etc...). Maybe that’s why such a threat would be so effective.

I have said before and I'll say again, the libs remind me of Wile E. Coyote in his quest to get the roadrunner! Everything he does comes back to bite him in the butt. All his plans and plots look great on paper and in his mind, but time after time they blow up in his face or have a serious backlash. I suspect this will end the same way for the libs who've hatched what they see as yet another plot to discredit Dubya et al. What it's really going to do is show just how determined those in charge at the time were, thank God, to get answers and prevent a repeat. And like the methods or not, I happen to LOVE them, they worked. There weren't 10 people in all the world who thought we could go EIGHT year without another attack of any magnitude on our soil.

I think the more they reveal about what was done in those critical days, weeks, months and years after 9/11 the more reasonable people will come to see how well it worked to avoid what was a given as inevitable at the time.

And, contrary to what the libs believe, it will not hurt us at all with those who practice much worse interrogation techniques as a first resort, not a last resort.

I could be wrong, goodness knows I have been lots of times in the past and will be lots of times in the future, but I think this is a great example of the liberal Roadrunner diplomacy!
