Morris says Republicans could pick up 100 House Seats in 2010
FOX News | August 24, 2009

Posted on 08/24/2009 6:14:41 PM PDT by Lucius Cornelius Sulla

On the Hannity show, Dick Morris just said he thinks the Democrats will lose as many as 100 seats in 2010. Hannity was so shocked that he audibly gasped.

You made a silly post. Yes, we all get frustrated, at times. Yes, we all want Republicans to fight. I just do not see the wisdom in circular firing squads. It is August, way to early to bitch about our candidates for an election more than a year away!

Morris was a very successful campaign advisor. Trent Lott and Bill Clinton used him and I assume many others.

He is very good at reading the mood of the country.

Gotcha. Your lack of reading comprehension skills = me being silly and “bi*****g” about yet to be named candidates.

Communications have changed. Reagan would be the first to use facebooks, etc.

Facebooks? So...ummmm... do you find these 'facebooks' on the 'internets'? Lol.

You sure in Hell arn’t.

So, spelling is a challenge for you too, isn't it? snicker....Let me help you out. Aren't is a conjunction of are and not. We do not drop the e in combining those two words, but rather drop the o. The correct spelling is a-r-e-n-'-t, thereby eliminating the o from not to create the conjunction.

Since you are anti war, you wouldn’t find a conservative Republican to your liking anyways.

There is no such thing. The Republican party sacrificed true conservative values on the altar of "Go Team!" long ago.

Join reality.

Also with the Republicans becoming the majority again, this means having a Republican as Chairman of each Committee and being able to call the shots.

Why golly, it doesn't matter if the 'shots' are in keeping with the core values espoused in our Constitution or not. No no, not at all. As long as its a Republican calling those shots, its all fine.

I’m having some fun at the expense of SoCalPol. But indeed, everything I’ve used as a means of poking that fun, is accurate. We can’t let the (contrived) divisiveness utilized by our politicians (both parties) keep us from seeing the larger picture. Deviation from our Constitution will be our downfall. It won’t matter which party deals the death blow, as each have betrayed it, and in so doing, us.

I LIKE your way of thinking... Yes, indeed. You may well prove invaluable to the fight to restore our Constitution!

(In the meantime, may I suggest you and others interested go to http://www.CanadaFreePress.com, do a search on D.C. Wright and then let me know what you think... I’d appreciate the feedback!)

100? So 278?

IF Republicans drew all the districts in the country to maximize output and had well funded top tier candidates running in all of them I suppose we could win 290 in a good year. But that is not the reality.

Morris is off his nut in fantasy land if he was being serious.

+100 would require the biggest paradigm shift since the great depression.

Just taking back he majority would be an impressive enough accomplishment.

I don’t know if Morris mentioned the Senate but it is out of reach. Just to make a net gain of Senate seats this cycle would be a victory. Never mind that many potential challengers are RINOs. A Senate with 51 “Republicans” like Mark Kirk and Rob Simmons wouldn’t be too helpful.

Sickoflibs has posited that it would be best not to take the majority in 2010 but rather just leave the rats in narrow control so Obama can’t pull a Truman (run against the new congress, win) or a Clinton (move a bit to the center in order to work with the new congress, win) in 2012 or shift any of the blame for what is gonna happen the rest of his term.

"Imagine if 30 million people (just RUSH listeners!) swamped all the state offices demanding papers to run for the offices that the Congress people seem to think are theirs for life??"

Um, that would make for some VERY crowded Republican primaries. :p

If those comparisons hold up, what I’m thinking is that the election would be akin to the 1894 (not 1994) midterm (where the GOP reached almost what it got in 1920), which occurred as a result of the Panic of 1893 (and against the Cleveland administration). We discussed that weeks ago, where the GOP made inroads in heavily Dem locales in the Deep South and border states, but a lot of it eroded in 1896, even as we elected McKinley.

“The Post also reported that McDonnell and Deeds are polling evenly in even the innermost suburbs of Northern Virginia,”

No democrat is gonna come close to winning without a good lead there.

no, DEM primarys! :)

we would all be running against the POS standing up to the will of the people!

Maybe I’ll put a listing in the paper that there will be a town hall meeting outside his office and whether he comes or not, we’ll have our say.

A repeat of 1894/96 would sure beat a repeat of 1994/96.

I wonder what our Republican ‘leaders’ would do with a massive majoirty. Hopefully the newly elected young Turks would join with our reformist conservatives and take over from the pathetic Boehner types.
