Whats funny, my Mom who works in the Crew Office at JSC went to the launch, she left Monday morning early...
Oyyyyy, I asked her if I could get in with her at the VIP area to watch this time...ugggg, No Go on that one...
Oh well, there is always the next one...
The only launch, as long as our family has worked at NASA, the only launch I have ever seen at the Cape was the Apollo 15 event...
Maybe I’ll get lucky and see one of these Shuttle things before they get shelved...

I met Bill Dana (the 8th original astronaut) for the first time at Wally Schirra’s funeral reception ... what was it? ... about two years ago April or May?
Anyway, he spoke and reiterated the story that after Wally’s flight, Bill called Wally and asked, “So, Wally, where ya been?” Wally said, “Oh, you know ... around.”

Any Florida Freepers plan on making the trip to watch it in person tonight. I would be happy to meet up. I go often and my favorite location is at the water's edge at North Port Canaveral, near the gate to the Air Force Base.
