34 500 is the average number of annual flu deaths 1975-1999.

IF (and it's a big if) A/California/04/2009 has a mortality RATE equal to "normal" flu, then it could get to 90K dead if there are >100 million cases.

And, yes, there's no doubt that any advantage to be had from this situation will be taken by Zero and his crew - no doubt at all.
