Found this little section on Stevie Nicks Wikipedia page.

I don't know her politics, but this is a cool thing she does for our wounded soldiers.

God Bless her. I’ve always liked her but now I have even more of a reason. What a classy and generous lady.

Wow - who woulda thought?

Good for her. It’s always great to see people giving support to our active military people or veterans.

Wow. What a refreshing story. I’ve always liked her but this is a whole new dimension. How different from the normal self-absorbed narcissistic rock star!

If true, I am amazingly surprised. And pleased.

I’d like to see this verified at another source besides Wikipedia....

Whoa! My impression of her has gone up big time! I always liked her music but never knew her politics either. Very nice to hear that their are some in the rock world who realize that freedom comes with a price, it ain't free!

Sounds like Stevie is growing...Thanks for posting this.

There’s no doubt she leans liberal but this experience may alter that view.

You can be assured that as we speak, some intrepid FReeper (with entirely too much time on their hands) is scouring the internet for every political uttering of Nicks, Fleetwood, et.al., just looking for something to hold against them.

It always happens. But I never let it change my impressions of the great work these people did.

Good job Stevie.

I like Stevie Nicks and I don’t know much about her politics either. However, she has always supported and cared about our military people. At least since “Operation Desert Angel” during the first Gulf War. Unlike so many other entertainers, she believes in something other than herself. Although she is not as popular as she once was, I still buy and listen to her stuff when it is released.

If not for Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, most of us would never have heard of Fleetwood Mac.

Buckingham's special style of playing guitar and Nick's unique voice are my memories of Fleetwood Mac.

Yes, they were lovers and many of the songs on their album Rumours is about their emotional breakup.

Go Your Own Way

Yes, Nicks did have an affair with Mick Fleetwood

"Any one of them could be my own child."..."You can't help falling in love with every one of them."...said Nicks.

No truer words have been spoken. Unlike most of Hollywood, she not only talks the talk, she walks the walk.

I never cared much for her voice or fleetwood Mac but what she is doing here is phenomenal. Thank you Ms. Nicks and I hope you are able to engage more of the old rock and roll leagues to your cause. Applause!!!!!!!

Last I knew, she was strung out on all sorts of drugs. Good to know she got herself together and respects her adopted country enough to honor our soldiers. That’s a splendid gesture.

I was under the impression that she is from a military family. I may be wrong, but I think I remember reading about this years ago.

I’ve always loved Stevie Nicks and her music. She has been actively supporting wounded soldiers since the first Gulf War. Her politics do lean to the left, but she clearly respects the views of others also.

I hadn’t heard about the iPod giveaways and I think that that is absolutely wonderful. It is nice to know that some celebrities still care about those young soldiers who go in harms way.
