We all made mistakes during our younger days. Shoot, I voted for McGovern and Carter before I saw the light, and boy did I see the light!
In the 1980 election, my neighbors in the small German town I lived in were pleading with me to vote against Reagan. They were so sure that RR was going to start WWIII. Lucky for me that my German was proficient at that point, as I gave them a lesson in American civics and nuclear policy.
Was I effective? Shortly after the election, I was invited to sit at the stammtisch of my neighborhood gasthaus, a table reserved for family/friends of the family. Of course, I'm sure that it was more for my patronage than it was for my political views! LOL!
Back to the thread: any support given to our soldiers is appreciated. I try not to pay too much attention to politics when I'm listening to music. For example, I may vehemently disagree with David Crosby's politics, but I can't help it...Southern Cross is an awesome song.
