Travel Icon Says He'll Avoid Arizona Because of Gun Laws
Fox News ^ | August 21, 2009 | N/A

Travel icon Arthur Frommer says he won't be spending his tourism dollars at the Grand Canyon, or anywhere else in Arizona, because the state's laws allow people he described as "thugs" and "extremists" to openly carry firearms.

The author of budget-travel guides said on his blog Wednesday that he was "shocked beyond measure" by reports that protesters openly carried guns and rifles outside a Phoenix building where President Barack Obama spoke on Monday.

Frommer says he won't personally travel in a state where civilians carry loaded weapons as a means of political protest.

How does he feel about states where citizens can carry handguns concealed for their protection? I’d guess he wouldn’t want to travel there either. So that leaves him, what 2 or 3 states where he can “spend his travel dollars?”

What a BEM!

Good, he can go to Chicago and get shot in the head.

Isn’t a “Frommer”, flatulence in a closed environment auto?

Yes, how will Arizona ever survive? I’m sure the Grand Canyon, the Pertrified Forest, the Colorado River, the many ski resorts where you can actually ski, and the wonderful winter conditions will scarcely be able to overcome this idiot’s temper fit.

Some people have extraordinarily inflated opinions of themselves. I too have never heard of this either.

FFrom Wiki:

“He is also known to be quite a liberally slanted propogandist. His political viewpoints often overshadow his travel viewpoints; in his blog he stated that he will boycott Arizona because he was “shocked beyond measure” that Arizona citizens could openly carry firearms as a form of protest, conveniently ignoring the fact that at least 17 other states allow the same high level of freedom that Arizona does. However, research show that wherever law abiding citizens are allowed to carry arms, the violent crime rates are generally low.”

So let the old sissy boy fruitcake travel to places where citizens do not have guns,,,, only muggers do.

Haven’t seen any writing from him on how nice it is to travel to the South Bronx or Cabrini Green, however.

That’s ok. The Frommer guides were always riddled with errors, anyway, and obviously were not regularly updated. No loss.

Then this bastard better leave the entire United States.

He might also wish to avoid New Hampshire, as we also have a well-known tendency to practice our civil liberties, much to the annoyance of those who would deny them.

No FEDERAL law. Some states forbid open carry outright, others require a license to do so.

By the looks of this guy, it seems he'd be a ripe candidate for the Obama Death Panels. However, here in the United Pens of Animal Farm, Mr. Frommer will mysteriously be granted all the free healthcare he wants. Oh, and all his family, friends, and illegal aliens that work for him.

Imagine that.

I remember visiting Tombstone a few years ago. A number of the clerks in the stores carried revolvers on their hips. The wife and I were traveling with her sister and bro-in-law from England. I don’t know what they thought about it, but they didn’t say anything.
