White House Reveals Identity of Firm That Sent Unsolicited E-Mails on Health Reform
Fox News ^ | 8/22/09 | Major Garrett and Eric Shawn

The White House hired a private communications company based in Minnesota to distribute mass e-mails, helping to shed light on how some recipients received e-mails in support of President Obama's health care plan without signing up for them, FOX News has learned.

The company, Govdelivery, describes itself as the world's leading provider of government-to-citizen communication solutions and says its e-mail service provides a fully-automated on-demand public communication system.

The confirmation comes after the White House acknowledged this week that people were receiving unsolicited e-mails from the administration about health care reform and suggested the problem was with third-party groups that placed the recipients' names on the distribution list.

Mr. Obama, you're no Harry Truman.

Mr. Obama loathes Mr. Truman. Truman dropped 2 atomic bombs and brought us into the Cold War with the Soviets.

Here’s how the snitch sight spies on you, without your knowledge. According to Wired Magazine, a high tech computer magazine, in Ryan Singel’s 8-10-09 article, “More than half of the internet’s top websites use a little known capability of Adobe’s Flash plub-in to track users and store information about them, but only four of them mention the so-called Flash Cookies in their privacy policies, UC Berkeley researchers reported Monday. Even the Whitehouse.gov showed up in this report with researchers reporting they found a Flash cookie with the name “userld.” The site does say in its privacy policy that it uses tracking technology, but it does not mention Flash or tell users how to get rid of the Flash cookie.”

When caught with their proverbial computer pants down, the White House takes down flag@whitehouse.gov and puts up another address. Betcha the Flash cookie goes with any .gov site. Obama lies, but the facts don’t lie.

LOL...but...the WH did NOT say that they supplied the email addys to this firm. Of course they would not say that. But, it is strange that the people who got the emails...were not Obama supporters! I am sure the people who received them were on a list compiled from the WH “fishy” email request, and from WH spies who look for people like FReepers. Don’t tell me the company got their list of email addys from some source like one of those “sign up to play games” sites, LOL!

Yes, but two things about CAN-SPAM:

1. Find where a recipient can sue the government, if they are responsible.
2. Find where a recipient can sue a private entity.

A lawsuit was just thrown out in the 9th Circuit because a person who received more than 13,000 spam messages didn’t have “standing” to sue the private company. Only the government can sue.

And last I knew, you couldn’t sue the government for basically anything if they did something wrong.

O throws the firm under the bus.

They probably didn't have much of a choice...

1. "Either go with us here and stay in business..."

2. "Or, get a special invitation to the IRS auditing hell..."

Anybody that is associated with The Marxist Onada and is angry band of Chicago commie thugs will eventually be tossed if the need arises.

Frankly, I have no idea what revealing this info accomplishes. Onada hired them to do exactly what they did. This does not distance him from the political spamming crime.

Who would be paying the penalty? Us, out of the treasury. And where would the penalty go? Into the treasury.

Spot on! the whole concept of ‘government-to-citizen communication’ smacks of Big Brother, Nanny State, In-your-face Dependent Class bureaucracy. At the very least, ‘government-to-citizen communication’ results in more dead trees and over-filled Waste Disposal Sites. No good can come of this! Perhaps the only good news is that it’s still a little $9 mil pipsqueak organization of group-think globalists with serious ego problems!

These folks currently in power are very, very shrewd. (That became evident early on.) Their shrewdness is what enabled them to get this far, and I'm afraid it'll enable them to get even further unless we wise up fast.

Politics in America today, I'm very sad to say, is no place for an honest man. This is no "gentleman's war". Our enemies are playing for keeps. And if we're unwilling to slog it out in the mud, we're going to lose our country.

No part of the money appropriated by any enactment of Congress shall, in the absence of express authorization by Congress, be used directly or indirectly to pay for any personal service, advertisement, telegram, telephone, letter, printed or written matter, or other device, intended or designed to influence in any manner a Member of Congress, a jurisdiction, or an official of any government, to favor, adopt, or oppose, by vote or otherwise, any legislation, law, ratification, policy, or appropriation, whether before or after the introduction of any bill, measure, or resolution proposing such legislation, law, ratification, policy, or appropriation; but this shall not prevent officers or employees of the United States or of its departments or agencies from communicating to any such Member or official, at his request, or to Congress or such official, through the proper official channels, requests for any legislation, law, ratification, policy, or appropriations which they deem necessary for the efficient conduct of the public business, or from making any communication whose prohibition by this section might, in the opinion of the Attorney General, violate the Constitution or interfere with the conduct of foreign policy, counter-intelligence, intelligence, or national security activities. Violations of this section shall constitute violations of section 1352 (a) of title 31.
