Today (August 22nd) is the day when a nationwide series of "Recess Rallies" are supposed to be held with the aim of convincing our elected leaders that maybe they might want to reconsider going off on another wild spending binge with money we don't even have and which we'll have to borrow in order to have that spending binge. Talk about a real-life "Confessions of a Shopoholic."
If you have the time today, and you feel like you want to get involved, just go over to the link provided above or in the email below and see if there's a rally scheduled near you. The aim is to hold these either right in front of a congressperson's district office or very near to one, even if they're not planning on being in the office in the first place. Given how afraid many of them seem to be when it comes to meeting with their newly-fired up constituencies, it's probably a fair bet they won't be around.

Why don't we get out there and see what the voices of hundreds of thousands or even millions of sober-minded Americans can do to influence the direction in which many of us see the country heading? If you're feeling like you're outnumbered, realize this: All polling over the last year (Battleground Poll and even Gallup) says that there are far more conservative voices than there really are liberal ones.
Maybe people have mistaken an easygoing "get along to go along" attitude for either a lack of numbers or a lack of will on the part of conservative Americans, but I think that many of those same folks are about to receive a very strong message that that just isn't the case.

One thing I would ask at any Town Hall meeting. “Do you and the people in Congress realize how ticked off the American people are? Do you realize how close they are to revolting against Washington and I mean physically, not politically?

I’d say many of the folks in D.C. are really REVOLTING, that’s for sure. I spent a year in the Beltway, at the Pentagon, back in the mid-90s working in congressional liaison. Some of their staffs were unbelievable. And many of the actual lawmakers were completely lost at sea.
Mine is in 3 hours.

Ms Titus talked person to person for 3 minutes for 2 hours.
I guess we made enough noise and she says she is going to hold a town hall in Sept.
