Y'all want to memorize this phrase before going to mexico:

"No hay otra manera para arreglar este asunto?"

If you want an upside down question mark at the beginning of the question ask the mod to fix it - I'm just waking up ... ;-)

A Browning .22-caliber semiautomatic handgun was concealed in the subject's waistband...

My God! He could have taken over the whole country!!!

Do you think if The Border Patrol faced south rather than north they might catch a few coming into this country?

I think they are searching south bound vehicles as a prelude to keeping people who work and pay the freight for all the social programs within the boundries of their reach...just like the old Berlin Wall was up to stop productive citizens from leaving the old USSR.

Welcome to the Gulog Comrade.

U.S. Border Patrol agents successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle a semiautomatic handgun into Mexico, the agency reported Friday.

In the ongoing battle against malaria, I swatted and killed a mosquito.

Why don't Spanish speakers (writers?) put an upside down period at the beginning of a declarative sentence?

We need a Border Patrol, but its never going to be perfect. I think we should be going after the employers who knowingly hire these peopole. We should also (finally) make a National ID and take action (e.g., call ICE) when someone tries to commit ID fraud to get a job and healthcare. And, of course, we should build a wall.

My comments were about the firearm story and statements made to and by the media. A (/s) should have accompanied my remarks.

Illegal workers and aliens is a whole different story.

With the president and congress we have at the present time I am not in favor of a National ID (Internal Passport). It could easily be a tool for the tyrannical powers of a socialist type US government.

Illegals should be deported. Action by ICE and all levels of law enforcement toward that goal should be enforced. Making it effective,, I don't have that answer.

Penalize employers yes by all means. Of course we want to save money, there is the rub. For example home repair bids using illegal aliens will be the cheapest. Even union members will go for the lowest bid when the money is coming from their pockets.

The cash underground economy is a fact of life, just like bootleggers during Prohibition. Very hard or impossible to stop. Add in local and national corruption makes the task even more difficult.

Enforce, penalize and deport each will help the problem. Of course if you enforce the law you will be labeled like Sheriff Joe in Arizona for doing your job by the ACLU, US Congress-persons, churches, the media and others.

Yes,, build the wall, it might help with drugs crossing the border, terrorists plus other problems you and I have not thought about.

You and I the taxpayers are paying for it, but our public servants don't look upon us as their employers. That attitude has come to the front with the town halls across the country.

A Constitutional Republic is not a perfect form of government, but it is by far better than the others. Ours needs improvement, at present it is still going the other direction. But you and I can change that, it will not be easy nor fast, but it can be done.

He was arrested for his own protection.

He could have shot his huevos off with that mexican-carry-in-the-waistband thing going on.

Firearms and ammunition are illegal in Mexico.

Actually only "military calibers", the others are heavily restricted, not as badly as in Chicago, but pretty bad. That .22 Browning would have been perfectly legal, given the proper permits, which of course require greasing the proper palms. Sort of like New York City, Boston or some places in California.

With a .22 Browning? He'd have to shoot twice, once per huevo. :) That second shot could be tricky.
