Barack Obama has a high opinion of the Canadian single-payer health-care system. In March, he lamented that the only thing separating us from Canadas system was our legacy of employer-based health care, and of course free markets and private contracting, neither of which have been allowed in Canada. That may account for why Canadas system, in an effort to reduce wait times, now contracts with American providers across the border:
Hospitals in border cities, including Detroit, are forging lucrative arrangements with Canadian health agencies to provide care not widely available across the border.

Maybe it is in Canada’s best interest for the US not to ruin its healthcare.

Socialist Medicine can’t keep updating to take advantage of new technologies.
Where will we go in twenty years to take advantage of new expensive technology?
A lot of Canadians would die under the US single payer health plan not to mention many many more Americans.
I saw a crazy man on Greta yesterday blasting Whole Foods’ CEO for criticizing Obamacide. His claim was that every day, 60 Americans die from lack of health insurance, while in Canada, none do.
If he wasn’t just outright lying, then I guess he was trying to make a distinction between lack of health insurance, as opposed to lack of healthcare. I don’t think anyone ever died from lack of health insurance. Possibly from lack of healthcare.
FYI, I’m a Canadian living in WA State...
I’m headed to BC Canada tomorrow for a funeral. My grand mother died Wednesday.
She went into the hospital, they figured anemic, she had a bleed behind her right eye.. a precursor to a stroke.
The were running tests and had setup an appointment for a CT scan, turns out the CT machine was busted, yet 45 minutes North there is another CT scanner, but it only runs at certain times on a certain schedule.
My grand mother waited, while she had further testing done she had a mild stroke, it caused her to lose vision in her right eye.
While she waited for the CT she finally had a massive stroke on Tuesday, and died in the afternoon of Wednesday...
She was 77
My uncle just got out of ICU at the same hospital, septicemia from a prostate biopsy, he almost died, he’s still sick 3 weeks later, requires weekly IV antibiotics.
Oh and he does have prostate cancer.
Canadian health care isn’t all its cracked up to be... don’t fall for the sunshine and lollipops version of it... you’ll end up with a shovel load of crap and a country of hypochondriac leeches.
I’m so very sorry....
I’m really sorry...
Costa Rica.
Just think of all the new American jobs that will be created in the health care field taking care of all those Canadians.
