It is a chilling question and one that has been troubling me for about two weeks. I read the low grade civil war phrase as a declarative statement from a commenter on a news story about the Congressional Town Hall meetings and it has been rattling in my brain ever since.
Ive been wanting to post about this question and today seemed like the right time since now Im not the only one worried about this question. In todays Washington Times, actor/activist Jon Voight makes this statement:
Theres a real question at stake now. Is President Obama creating a civil war in our own country? Mr. Voight tells Inside the Beltway.
We are witnessing a slow, steady takeover of our true freedoms. We are becoming a socialist nation, and whoever cant see this is probably hoping it isnt true. If we permit Mr. Obama to take over all our industries, if we permit him to raise our taxes to support unconstitutional causes, then we will be in default. This great America will become a paralyzed nation.
Do not let the Obama administration fool you with all their cunning Alinsky methods. And if you dont know what that method is, I implore you to get the book Rules for Radicals, by Saul Alinsky . Mr. Obama is very well trained in these methods.

SB “expressing their anger”.
Its the same culture war that has been going on for 50 plus years or so...
I agree....It’s the hippie retreads and Viet Nam antiwar crowd in control but I think a monumental backlash is brewing that will put the final nails in their coffins...
I don't like the term but I use it because .....it's where we are.
Watching the Town Halls this summer and our President’s continued march toward Socialism, I came to the same conclusion. If so-called health care “reform” passes, the seeds for full-blown Civil War will have been sown, particularly if states begin invoking the Tenth Amendment. Clearly, the Silent Majority has had enough.
Hats off to the gay patriot!
Aren’t we pretty much always in a cold civil war over something?
Self-ping.
When productive citizens start capping deadbeats and blood runs in the streets, then you can call it a civil war. I would hope that there's a more peaceable solution though the actions of the leftist thugs of late would indicate otherwise.
that PDF is blocked due to “racism and hate” filtering on my network. summary?
As far as I know, no-one has started shooting...yet.
To my way of thinking we’ve been a cold civil war since 1965.
How about a “WARM Civil War”
Do you really think that is an excellent book?
Conflict.
For years, the liberals have refused to do business with the Republicans but the general public seemed oblivious to the situation. But they’ve suddenly been awakened by the health care debate and they’re ticked off.
I think the term “civil war” is a bit over-the-top but if the status quo remains in place after the 2010 elections, all bets are off.
IMO.
Stupid question. Not even close.
The states are in a cold war against the federal government.
With the Weedership pushing as hard as they are, they are likely to meet the goal, it won’t be lowkey much longer.
Absolutely. Post #15 thinks so as well. I read the whole book in one sitting.
