One of evidences for evolution that has been strongly touted in recent years is the fact that the genomes of the human and chimpanzee are so similar. About 98.4% of the instructions in our genome match the chimp’s. We must share a common ancestor, so goes the argument which doesn’t worry about how humans and chimps could be so different. With a 98.4% match, evolution must be true. That, of course, is not a scientific argument. But leaving that aside, when we look under the hood we actually find that comparisons of the human and chimp genomes contradict evolution...

Agreed. I think that Chimaps are our “Cousins” we may share a common ancestor from way back when, but I think after the split we experienced a period of a semi-aquatic lifestyle. This may never be completely solved until we develop time travel of course.

PS There is a growing movement within evo circles to replace the chimp with the orang as our closest relative.
First they find out that the Evos might replace with the chimp with the orang as our closest relative, and now this! What’s an Evo to do???

Humans are, by definition, primates. So...
So now that we know more about the 2 species genome, this proves no evolution occured?
