You know this is important polling news, because the establishment media is pretending it doesn't exist.
You can't find a relevant reference to it in searches on "Gallup" at the New York Times, AP.org, the Washington Post, or the LA Times. A Google News search on "Gallup conservatives outnumber liberals" (not in quotes) comes up with all of eight results.
The news isn't just that self-identified conservatives outnumber self-identified liberals nationwide. That's old hat. The big news from Gallup is that conservatives outnumber liberals in every state in the union, including supposedly uberliberal Vermont and Massachusetts.

That’s the good news.
The bad news is many of them are pro-abortion, pro-gay, anti-gun, pro-big government, pro-Obama conservatives.
It is amazing who considers themselves “conservatives”..some just because they are over 50 years old.
This survey isn’t worth squat.
Self-descibing yourself as a Conservative to a pollster is not the same as being a Conservative.
It’s like people who call themselves Christians, but they don’t really believe in sin, or hell, or the divinity of Christ, or that God really exists. They just like the idea of Church and wedding and funerals having a Minister there.
If someone is a self-described Conservative but wants universal healthcare paid for by taxes and wants universal education with no standards and wants peace without a military... well, then they just like the idea of lower taxes and less governmental interference in daily life, but they don’t really believe in the things that will get them there.
Good news sure, how the Heck did we get omama? I am thinking RINO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What is this? A meeting of the Whiners Club? Can’t even find something positive about such good news? Geesh...
I know, for some news isn’t news unless we can cry in the beer over it.
The good news is that even those self described conservatives who aren’t so conservative are open to learning what conservatism is.
The article said — The news isn’t just that self-identified conservatives outnumber self-identified liberals nationwide. That’s old hat. The big news from Gallup is that conservatives outnumber liberals in every state in the union, including supposedly uberliberal Vermont and Massachusetts.

The *trouble* with that — is — these “self-identified conservatives” are voting “liberal”... unfortunately...
[... not saying “all” but enough of them who are “self-identifying” to make that almost meaningless...]
This is post election...read the damn article!
I read it, and — again — “self-identified” is a worthless identifier...
A better identifier would be people’s adherence to the actual conservative policies, and then from *those* — one can obtain a ratio of conservatives to liberals...
It’s useless in this form...
There is no way to poll “adherence” to anything really. Self identification is more than adequate, the fact the the trend is towards conservatism is very positive.
This is good news, so relax and enjoy it.
Prove your point.
Prove it.
“self-evident”... :-)
You said — There is no way to poll adherence to anything really. Self identification is more than adequate, the fact the the trend is towards conservatism is very positive.

Sure there is... LOL...
All I need is one question... “Did you vote for Obama or McCain?” And then, I would have a follow-up question after that — “If the election were today, would you vote for Obama or McCain?”
That’s all I need for a survey... :-)
These polls are very misleading when you take into consideration most libtards identify themselves as moderates and independents—they don’t like being called liberals.
I think the reporter screwed up on Obama's poll numbers, she claimed his numbers are 57%.
No not at all.
Look at the numbers in the survey.
;)
The “self-evident” part is not the “numbers” — but that when anyone can call themselves *anything they want* (whether it’s true or not) — then “numbers” don’t mean too much...
