When the House and Senate fight, America wins. It’s when they cooperate that we’d better hold fast our valuables.
No bill? Sounds great to me.
No public option, no bill? No bill it is.
Instead:
What if we suggested that individual senators and congresscritters could sign up truly needy constituents onto the congress’ health care plan? They get to pick who truly needs this and they simply add them to the congressional tab.
We cover all the needy people the congress is willing to take responsibility for publicly, we save over a trillion dollars I would think.
Then the second step is to implement all the waste reduction and savings they constantly say are possible. Can’t they do this without spending a bunch of money? If they know there’s waste then go after it and, with all the money they save - and ONLY with the money they save - can they start spending on other things they’d like to have.
Next we will have to have government home insurance, government life insurance, and government car insurance to keep all those companies honest.
No Bill!
No Bill!
No Bill!
“Unless someone comes up with a better idea, that’s how we’re going forth in the House.”
how about tax credits for individual insurance and let people buy them across state lines?
Sen. Kent Conrad (D-S.D.), a key negotiator on the Finance Committee, said “It's very clear that there are not the votes in the United States Senate for a public option,”
Pass the popcorn.
Sounds good to me, bitch.

Would that be the “Government Option” she is referring to?
Isn’t there a law about how the government is not allowed to compete against private companies? That’s come up once or twice when I was doing things with the USG.
If so the “public option” with its intent to “keep the private companies honest by providing competition” would seem to violate that.
Do Not Resuscitate!
We need to make sure it’s always clear that this is not a public OPTION, it’s a public MANDATE and it MANDATES THAT NO MORE PRIVATE INSURANCE POLICIES BE WRITTEN AFTER TWO YEARS.
That’s not optional folks.
Excellent, Nancy. You stay completely out of touch with the American people so they can plainly see what a political (as well as medical) freak you are. This bodes well for the Dems to give the majority back. Now, we just have to pray the pubbies would finally understand what to do with it.
Yo Nancy, stand on your principles. I’m behind you all the way on this issue.
June - Pelosi “We’ll pass this before summer recess”
July - Pelosi “We’ll pass this bill before August”
August - Pelosi “We’ll pass this before the August recess”
August - Pelosi “We have the votes to pass this by Friday”
August - Pelosi “No bill without public option”
1. Why believe you now?
2. You don’t have the votes
3. Move on, try again with the next Demoncat President
If Death Panelosi and the Dems can railroad this through as a Democrat only bill, then only Democrat voters should have to live with socialized healthcare.
