A growing sense in the Republican Party that health care reform of any kind is the enemy, and attacks on the Massachusetts plan from Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty, appear to have prompted Mitt Romney to launch a defense of his legacy in that state, which now insures far more of its residents than any other.
Romney defended his plan on the Early Show this morning...

Every time he pipes us, he makes himself less acceptable to me. Whether the issue is abortion or medical, I cannot see him as the man I want as president.

Mittens sees a way to get int he news. Never mind that he is handing the enemedia what the Axelgreasy squad need at this time, a dissonance from pubbies which relieves the pressure on the criminal enterprise White House. Romney is all about Romney and to hell with anything or any Republic which won’t embrace his brand.

I am listening to this idiot Congressman Engel on Fox. He is pushing the healthcare plan. Says the insurance companies want it to stay same because they have all the say and deny you insurance.
What makes me furious is he is trying to say that government wouldn’t run our lives with their healthcare plan and those damn 47 million people which has been proven to be false will be covered.
Who the heck does this guy think he is? He and the others who support this deathcare take over our lives plan need to be voted out

First Romney opposed Reaganism and the Contract With America. Then he pushed RomneyCare into law, mandating and subsidizing health care.
Romney's nothing but an unprincipled, two-faced chameleon.

By coercing the citizens of MA to enter into a contract with the Insurance Lobby under penalty of law, Mitt Romney violated the Contracts Clause of the 13th Amendment. Unlike cars, which are insured because there is no right to drive, there is however a right to life.

Good indication of what Romney would be like as a president.
Bipartisan is code for Republican sell-out. And Romneycare is a disaster.
I vote "no confidence" on Mitt Romney. He capitulates to the left too often. He should not be the Republican candidate to face Obama in 2012.

Mitt Romney founded Bain & Co. in 1984, and today its spinoff -- Bain Capital -- is the third largest private equity firm in the country. Today they bought ClearChannel, a company that owns over 1100 radio stations and 30 TV stations.
This is why media consolidation issues are so important. One rich guy who wants to be president can buy a media empire overnight. Now of course, Romney will argue that he didnt buy Clear Channel, his private equity company Bain Capital did. And of course, there is no conflict of interest because Romney doesnt tell Bain Capital what to do as hes no longer officially with the company.
Still, seeing as how Clear Channel hosts Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and Sean Hannity and controls over 1,000 TV and radio stations nationwide, does anyone here really think Romney wont use this newfound pedestal to promote his candidacy, however subtly?
And, Romney and Beck have more in common than Clear Channel.

I think Glen Beck is too much of a Libertarian to endorse the mittens for much. Romney is clueless on what Glen is exposing presently, about the Apollo Alliance, the Tides Foundation, the commies and criminal czars Obama is appointing ... Romney is not as smart as poeple give him credit for. He’s a pirate capitalist, but he could care less if the Constitutional Republic is ‘changed’ so long as he continues to be important in whatever is next. That’s not very smart, gievn that Obama and Axelgreasy are sweeping away the old Republic to replace it with a federal oligarchy of Marxist proportions. The Romneys will be stomped into submission or tossed aside as dead meat in the new economic model.

So true! And not only that, those who are/were already having a difficult time, living paycheck to paycheck, no matter their age, under his law must get medical insurance whether or not they want it. It would be far cheaper for them to pay for their visits to the doctor than it is to pay for any of these insurance plans.
There are an average of 2500. deductible per year, an amount no healthy person reaches in the course of a year, and thus they pay hundreds a month for a policy they never use. The mandation of insurances under threat of fine in April when taxes are paid, is a disaster. Most are paying these premiums for the sole purpose of offering free medical care to others, with no benefit to themselves at all. It is a very pricey tax to those who cannot afford it.

did a quick calculation that if he was correct, it cost the state less than $200 per person to add them to the roles. If anyone believes that crap they need their head examined. Ok Maybe my head needs to be examined. You are right that you can not insure someone for $200 dollars a person. It is more like $5,000 on average. But if the insured people come off Medicaid and if the uninsured start going to doctors' offices instead of the ER, and if most of the uninsured were healthy young people, and if there is less cost shifting resulting in lower premiums for the previously insured, then if you factor all that in, you might get to the $200 per person.
In fact, if you factor in everything, you might definitely get to $200 per person.

He's a doofus, and that's putting it kindly.
People don't want "bipartisanship" of anything. They want gov't out of what's left of healthcare. That's Romney's (and other Republicans) biggest mistake right there. People don't want this crap, period.
If the GOP was smart, they'd talk about killing Obamacare AND start laying the groundwork on what to do with Medicare and Medicaid.

Mitt's been on with Hugh Hewitt twice in the last six weeks, and Hugh just wouldn't call him on the carpet either time on the MA Ins. fiasco. He would let Mitt get away with saying that “it is working, but needs some tweaking”. How many tens of millions is it in the red? Between Hugh and Laura having Emily's list as a sponsor......
