Disregard Author and Star Bulletin. Different story in Hawaii but not related to one breaking in Maryland.
We are on track for a case of the government vs. the people.
Government creates nothing; they exist because of the toils of the taxpayer. Yet they believe they are superior to the other citizens...the little people.
Contracts shouldn’t be violated except by bankruptcy... which is the defacto condition of the state. State employees shouldn’t be unionized, either, by and large.
This will go INSTANTLY to the United States Supreme Court ~ 'at's how special state governments are in this country BTW; got their own sections in the Constitution in fact.
The union in Maryland is going to rue the day they started this case ~ particularly when the OTHER PUBLIC EMPLOYEE UNIONS get even with them.
Perhaps that “judge” can pay the bills, then, eh?
What part of “bite me” will the judiciary not understand when we finally revolt?
Boy do I ever agree with you on that! What I object to most is using our taxpayer dollars to over pay them and then take the dues and beat us over the heads to get more and more and more.
It needs to be made illegal to allow government workers to unionize.
Any group of people should be allowed to organize, and form a union.
Any company (or gov’t) should be allowed to NOT recognize the same union.
In other words the boss or owner should be allowed to say;
I’ve heard your concerns, thank you. The time clock is over there—the exit is over there.”
So, if they want to use collective bargaining it's one thing, changing the fabric of the country is another. Like I said, it should be illegal.
Judge told Prince George’s County they’d violated the contract, yadda yadda yadda and NOPE, NO TAX INCREASE. PG is doing the “MASSIVE LAYOFF” trick. http://www.wtop.com/?nid=708&sid=1743067
Well, the union is going to get what they asked for. Instead of furloughs for all the workers a bunch of union members are going to be laid off!
Great job union bosses!
In short, the place is so Democrat it stinks ~ but the SEUI crowd (or their equivalents) does not control.
They will be unemployed for a long time.
the massive layoffs will no doubt take the cynical route of laying off trash collectors, police, and other essential services which will demonstrate to the taxpayers that they should not stand in the way of the more intellegent "officials" and stop bitching about high taxes.
The "massive" layoffs never include the higher paid managers do they?.....
....many "officials" may soon become the object of actions taken "at the most populous intersection of the town at high noon"
