If they would like to organize, it's fine, if they force others to pay dues so they can push a political agenda, it is not fine. I resent the fact that the largest unions working against everything this country stands for, is the unions for government employees and they are using my taxpayer dollars to destroy this country.
So, if they want to use collective bargaining it's one thing, changing the fabric of the country is another. Like I said, it should be illegal.

Giving government employees the right to strike, which I acknowledge many do not have, is a recipe for disaster. IMHO, employees of the state, at any level, who are paid by monies levied by force (taxes) should be subject to the favor of the citizens at large. This is not to say they should be abused or mistreated, but when they become a force above the citizenry at large, like Byzantine bureaucrats, we are headed toward the same fate as that old empire.
