This thread should be used to list terms that are used in the media to describe the debate that are very misleading to the public. Frank Luntz has stated many times that branding is important.
The term "public option" for example is very misleading. I heard tonight on Hannity that when the term "public option" is used rather than more accurate term "government option" the support for the program is much greater than if it was called what it really is, "government option."
So I'll start this off with 2 terms that need to be changed. Please spread the word to all your patriot friends to start using these terms when talking about health care.
Public Option = Government Option, Co-op = Government Sponsored Entity (GSE), or FannieMed/FreddieMed, etc.
orwellian newsspeak at it’s finest
well when i think of public option I think of public toilets...
“Government Option” will be a new phrase in my vocabulary.
How about “nonresident alien” ??? ILLEGAL ALIEN !!!
Bump for later reading!
Let’s start calling a spade a spade and call the GOVERNMENT’s option what it is.
The left uses word games to trick the public. Does the public have any say in this? No! It is not the so-called “public option” - it is the “GOVERNMENT option.”
I’ll also use GOVERNMENT option in my letters to the editor, or calling talk shows, as well as when I speak to friends.
Here’s an obvious one. Democrats=Socialists. It’s not the democrat health care bills. It’s the socialist health care bills.
