Ask for Real Town Hall on Health Care! Remember, Republican Members need to hold town halls too. Far too many Republicans are ready to support a federal individual health insurance mandate (feds force everyone to buy health insurance). It seems innocuous, but this is all Congress needs to pass to get national health care into law...as noted so aptly by MN State Sen. Linda Berglin in Sunday's Minneapolis Star Tribune (8/16/09) - see para. 13.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar - 612-727-5220 - ask for a REAL town hall, not her planned, no face-to-face tele-conference. Where's her courage?

Upcoming Congressional Town Halls Don't forget to express concern about the proposed federal health insurance mandate in the bill (see #11 - CCHC's 25 Reasons). In short, once Congress mandates the purchase of health insurance in violation of the 10th Amendment, they'll be empowered to define it and control all things related to it, including the delivery of medical care...or the rationing and denial of treatment.

Aug 20 - Rep. Tim Walz holds town hall on Health Insurance Reform. Info Aug 23 - Sen. Amy Klobuchar will hold a "No Touch, Long Distance, Total Control, Have-to-Tell-Who-You-Are" Tele-"town hall meeting"

Aug 24 - Rep. Keith Ellison town hall on Transportation and Jobs (Comment on health care if attend. U.S. Rep. Boehner says HR 3200 will cause people to lose their jobs due in part to higher employer costs (CNN video)) Info

Aug 27 - Rep. Michele Bachmann with Rep. Michael Burgess, M.D. (Go to support her free-market position and to express your concerns about a federal health insurance mandate - #11 on CCHC's 25 Reasons) Info
