Authorities say five teen girls were repeatedly groped and threatened on a Portage school bus for months before the two 17-year-old boys and one 16-year-old boy were arrested in February.

A Porter County judge on Thursday ruled the repetitive pattern of behavior by the boys showed that they were beyond rehabilitation in the juvenile justice system. Juvenile Magistrate Edward Nemeth also wrote that there was a need to protect students and deter similar actions

Our local schools have a zero tolerance policy towards anything like this, and they are not afraid to kick kids out for it.

I live in a small, non-ethnically diverse town. About the worse thing we have here are what teachers and schools have been dealing with for centuries.

To give you an idea of how conservative the schools are here my son (last year fourth grade) went to a non-denominational bible study class held at a church across the street from the school every week right before lunch on Wednesdays.

We had to help him memorize bible verses so he could recite them the following week, all this happening during school hours. Small towns in places still value right from wrong and teach it to kids even if their parents won’t.

My question is, where was Dad and Mom?

Guess I’m going to have make it perfectly clear to my daughters that such behavior is unacceptable, and NOT THEIR FAULT. Tell me. They won’t have to ride the bus anymore and I WILL deal with situation.

I live in Southern California, and there are schools here that are so filthy and vile, it would be best to just send the kids home, and then nuke the sites from orbit.

These boys had done all sorts of things to other kids in the school and there was nothing anyone could do about it.

Easily solved. All the principal had to do is invite the big bully dad to come to the school to discuss the problem. Meet him at the door with the video tapes and reports of the incidents. And ask if he knows the other two persons who will be sitting in on the meeting, the school's attorney and... the chief of police.

Then the school darn well knows he should have never been on a bus, let alone in school. Back in the ‘old days’ we had miscreants in school..but not for long, they either shaped up or were gone instead of dragging us all down to the lowest common denominator.

As someone who, as a young girl, encountered similar behavior on a schoolbus and at school, I ask you: Why should race even be mentioned in the first place? Would this crime be any less despicable if the victims and the perps were the same race?

And, besides the "Council of Conservative Citizens", is there another source that has determined that the victims were indeed white? Where did the "Council of Conservative Citizens" obtain their information?
