Former House Majority Leader Dick Armey is organizing a march on Washington against the Obama administrations healthcare plan that he hopes will finally finish off the Democratic push for socialized medicine.
The march, organized by Armeys political group FreedomWorks, is scheduled for Sept. 12 and is already generating hundreds of thousands of responses, the Texas Republican tells Newsmax.TV. The group is isnt providing transportation, but that doesnt seem to be a problem.

God speed! I think this march will be a tremendous success. You will have hundreds of thousands marching... it will be the largest conservative March EVER.
I dont credit Armey or anyone but The One. Obama.
We need a huge protest in DC to fight against Obamas Marxist takeover of America. Im not going to quibble over who claims credit for getting it done.
As Ronald Reagan said, its amazing what you can get done if you dont worry about who gets credit for it.
"Make a Joyful Noise unto the Lord!" - Psalm 100.
Be more fun to surround the White House with people wearing Joker masks.
Very well said...be happy folks !
Way to go...I like your style
Its all the same The tea Party,Health care ,we need ONE HUGE CROWD Period
Illegal immigration is well, illegal. It therefore cannot (or IMHO, should not) be rewarded, i.e."path to citizenship." Fence and control the border. End "anchor baby" citizenship. Strict employer sanctions. (Californicators, mow your own goddam lawn and take care of your children yourselves).
If Sarah starts tailoring mediagenic answers to immigration questions now, where is she going to be in 2012? "Path to citizenship" = "Amnesty" This "Go to the Back of The Line," is pure RINO hosshiite, unless the line is in the illegal immigrant's home country.
BTW, I am still waiting for Sarah to condemn BHO, Jr.'s active, on-site electioneering and financial support of Odinga in the 2006 Kenya Election. If 1500 dead Christians, and several hundred thousand people burned out of their village's by Obama's people didn't get her attention, what the hell will?
I agree that the perfect is the enemy of the good, and Sarah will be a pretty damn good candidate, but I am allowed to disagree with her now.
If the numbers that I anticipate do show up, the leftist media - who lie to themselves, will only be able to say, “Wow, that Dick Armey sure can organize a lot of people!” Let them say it! We KNOW the media lie!
Why should we attack Armey because he wants to join the parade? I hope every person in America who is able to get to DC shows up - not just the 1000% pure on every issue Freepers!
When ANSWER used to hold rallies during the Bush administration, every weirdo in the Eastern half of the US attended and the media were Very Impressed with the numbers. It didn’t matter what ‘issue’ brought the protesters to the Mall.
Sarah Palin has a job to get elected. Without the real bully pulpit, there can be no change, only protest. Without the actual power, there is only voice.
She is already working hard for us conservatives. Is she perfect? No, they crucified Him. Is she all that I want? No, I wish she was in Zero's face every day. He is responding to her, and it only makes her look stronger and him decidedly weaker. I like that!
I am against illegal immigration. But, I do not see any way to change things from the outside! WE need to start early and keep strong in supporting someone. I think Sarah Palin rises above the rest. She is electable.
Unless you haven't noticed, you still have to press 2 for English! I despise the status of illegals, but I know many of them personally and have not narced on anyone! I speak Spanish, and know that most of them are heading home anyways. The times are changing. The Dims want illegals to vote. They already are...
Disclaimer: I am a WASP, with a great-great grandfather who arrived on these shores from Ireland by way of England!
We are so very different. We all share the same cause. We all want the same things. If someone we don't like supports some of us, who cares? Some people don't like Beck, Rush, Hannity, whoever. But we are all on the SAME TEAM fighting a Marxist enemy.
I don't know who coined the phrase Donner party conservatives, but I think that's what we are seeing from some here. We have GOT to stop eating our own.
We have GOT to stop eating our own.
#####
Absolutely!!
Looks to me like Dick Armey controls the podium, and therefore the ultimate message, at the DC march.
I’ve only seen one prospective speaker list so far. The first name on it was Dick Armey.
Call your local press when you see the parked ACORN buses - take pictures.
We need to let our fellow citizens know that the dem side is nothing more than RICH LIBERAL ELITES paying losers to shill for them.
Then Maureen Dowd and the other boomers in the press can pretend it's eternally 1968 and they're standing with the young against the Establishment.
IN TRUTH, the DEMS are The Establishment - and they're rich and corrupt and they hire people to prop up an image that's a lie. Prop up a lie - while stealing the voices of real citizens.
Stop the lies - take pictures of ACORN/dem buses....
So, in order to get elected, you advocate Sarah soft-pedal her opposition to illegal immigration? OK. Let her put out a position paper, spelling out what she intends to do about it. Does she intend to combine "Path to Citizenship," with a severely tightened border? What about "anchor babies?" Etc. Lay off the platitudes.
IMHO, if you want the "hispanic" vote, i.e., the legal "Hispanic" vote ... stress your anti-abortion bona fides, talk about Obama's support for Castro, Chavez, Zelaya, Ortega, tell the Mexicans that their new country deserves as strict border control as their old one practices. IOW, get real. You might get 30% of the "Hispanic" vote.
Better yet, maybe she should keep quiet about immigration and keep hammering Obama and his ties to the Radical Left.
Tell legal "hispanics,"
"Dime con quien te vas, y yo te digo quien eres."
I speak Spanish, and know that most of them are heading home anyways. The times are changing.
Heading home? Listen WV, we are going to wind up with a 30% "hispanic" population, no matter what we do. Let's get a handle on this and turn these illegals out, while we integrate the legals, or our grandchildren are going to live in North Latin America, which if your Irish great-great grandfather had wanted for you, he would have set the family up in South America.
We can handle immigrants from anywhere, but they have to be Americanized, as your family obviously was, not allowed to flaunt our laws to set up a bastard version of their homelands.
I’m not sure of the accuracy of your assumption based on what you’ve seen, nor the significance of your concern.
You go on a rant about how bad "Hispanic" is, then acknowledge "... we are going to wind up with a 30% "hispanic" population, no matter what we do . Tell us how you would solve this problem with details and facts, not hype and hope! Oh yeah, you said it was unsolvable...
What an assinine argument...
Sarah Palin on the issue:
Q: Should undocumented immigrants all should be deported? Sarah: There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant--there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants--not only economically is that just an impossibility but that's not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue.
Q: Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 million undocumented immigrants?
Sarah: No, I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. We have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.
Q: So you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
Sarah: I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country. - Univision interview
All one must do is peel back a layer or two to see what’s actually going on.
But, out of respect for Jim I’m going to shut up now. I’ve made my position clear.
Sarah: No, I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules
12 million illegals? You mean in LA County?
"Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules."
In in other words, only some of those who broke the rules will get amnesty? How do you figure that. What rules? What people?
Sarah is being put on the spot and has not thought this out. This is a an UNIVISION interview. Sarah is perhaps courting the illusory "hispanic" vote; a largely pointless effort. McCain and GW talked amnesty until tyhey were blue in the face. How did that work out for them with the "hispanics?"
My details for her White Paper on Immigration:
(1) A closed, tightly controlled border, just like a real country.
(2) An end to "Anchor Baby" citizenship. It is a custom, not a law.
(3) Strict employer sanctions, fines, jail terms, RICO enforcement, etc.
(a) Control of SS#s
(b) Witholding Taxes
(c) Systematic sweeps of work places, much more intensively than now
(4) Massive deportation, starting with
(a)criminals from misdemeanor up, with their families.
Paths to Citizenship:
5 year enlistment:
Recruited in other countries, not here. You want the deal, go home and we'll talk.
Applying for visas in the homeland, not here. Go home, we'll talk.
Here's as far as I would go with amnesty: If the family has been here for 10 years, has paid taxes, and has no criminal record, I might let one family member go home, and apply for legal entry in the home country, for the rest of the family. Since illegal entry is a crime, I would also require them to pay a substantial fine for that original offense, a forfeited bond, with no criminal record.
Now WV, let me get one thing straight with you. I don't give a damn whether the US turns out to be a 30, 40, or 90% ethnically Latino Country. But let's keep it legal and make it everyone's choice, not a wholesale population change by people who have no intention of integrating into our culture. There is nothing wrong with strict immigration controls based on many factors, including our economic needs and ethnicity. I have worked in and out of Latin America for over 30 years, and I know the good, the bad, and the very ugly of Latino culture, which my friend, is NOT a very good fit with our good, bad, and very ugly. And I also believe in the social equivalent of Hobbes' Law.
Furthermore, speaking of laws: if the people's representatives vote for open borders, anchor babies, and amnesty, so be it. I have a vote, too, and if I don't like it here, or here doesn't like me, I can leave, or not.
Apparently, you are convinced that Sarah is the only hope of the Republican revival and are willing to accept any compromise to get her as the candidate. I, although I would certainly support her if she is a candidate, most emphatically do not.
If you are close to her, tell her to avoid the immigration issue for now, it's a minefield being laid out for her by the MSM. Furthermore, she now has enormous political capital from her successful confrontation with Obama on Health Care. Why waste it?
we are going to wind up with a 30% "hispanic" population, no matter what we do
These are not my numbers, but US Census projections, and conservative at that, for 2050. Strict controls, such as I advocate, will make it take just 50 years longer. But my only idea is the successful integration of the Latinos as full American citizens. Karl Rove is right about the possibility of Latinos as the "Republicans of the Future." But that potential is less likely to happen if the Latinos are illegal to begin with, and begin their political careers as ACORN recruits, illegal motor voters,or worse. The huge number of poor illegal immigrants has been the Democrats' Happy Hunting Ground.
PalinPingola
Mrs. Palin will need to refine her answer, methinks...(or, 'extend and clarify' as they say in Washington, DC)
I heard Glenn Beck was going to be there - it seems the more big names are with us, then the better it will be!
