Obama's MySpace page posts age as 52

If President Obama was born in Hawaii was it while the islands yet remained a territory of the United States?

A new wrinkle in the dispute over his birth – and whether he is eligible to be president under the U.S. Constitution's requirement that the president be none other than a "natural born" citizen – appeared today when Obama's MySpace page confirmed his age is 52.

That would mean if he was born on the islands that now make up the state of Hawaii it would have been during the archipelago's days as a territory for the United States, the status for the islands from about 1900 until it became a state in 1959.

It also conflicts with campaign and other White House information that have discussed his 48th birthday just a few days into this month.

It’s plausible. If one had to disappear witnesses, colonial Kenya would have been the place.

They kept public hanging as the penalty for murder well into the 1950’s, as a deterrent, long after nearly every other corner of the British Empire had done away with it.

Absolutely not tired. He didn’t show us the Original BC so he ignored the Constitution too.

For example, I don’t believe that people born in Puerto Rico are US Citizens. I believe they travel under a Puerto Rico passport and have to naturlize to become US citizens.

It's nice to have beliefs.

Here are the facts:

In 1917, the Jones-Shafroth Act granted Puerto Ricans U.S. citizenship. All persons born in Puerto Rico after 1941 are considered natural-born citizens of the United States, one of the constitutional requirements to be President the United States.

Frank Marshall Davis wrote he had an affair with a 14-year-old white girl named Anna.

OK, but how about a 9 year old girl named Anna?
Stanley Ann Dunham was born Nov 29, 1942.
BTW I don't doubt Davis is really Hussein's dad.

U.S. Code : Title 8 : Section 1402: Persons born in Puerto Rico on or after April 11, 1899

All persons born in Puerto Rico on or after April 11, 1899, and prior to January 13, 1941, subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, residing on January 13, 1941, in Puerto Rico or other territory over which the United States exercises rights of sovereignty and not citizens of the United States under any other Act, are declared to be citizens of the United States as of January 13, 1941. All persons born in Puerto Rico on or after January 13, 1941, and subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, are citizens of the United States at birth.

Robin, given the Sebelius “misspeaks;” the daily Tracking polls tanking (so early and so fast); I look for an “uptick” in Birth Certificate obfuscations. This little FaceBook bio blurb being “one” of them. Diverting attention away from topic and adding to the one the media trivializes the most.

My understanding is if anyone is born on US soil, they are citizens. This includes embassies, military bases, US territories (Puerto Rico), etc.

Your understanding is flawed.

Birth on military bases or in embassies does not qualify one to be a citizen.

Puerto Rico is not a US territory, it is a Commonwealth.

Not all citizens are Natural Born Citizens.

McCain was not born on the base, nor in the Canal Zone.

I think this applies.

“Americans Born Overseas

The birth of a child abroad to U.S. citizen parent(s) should be reported as soon as possible to the nearest American consular office for the purpose of establishing an official record of the child’s claim to U.S. citizenship at birth. The official record is in the form of a Consular Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States of America. This document, referred to as the Consular Report of Birth or FS-240, is considered a basic United States citizenship document. An original FS-240 is furnished to the parent(s) at the time the registration is approved.”
