“The “compromise” health-care reform being negotiated by six members of the Senate Finance Committee is shaping up as a classic warning of the dangers of bipartisanship without principles: It looks like they’ll keep the worst features of other Obama Care bills — but simply change the names.
Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) and Sens. Kent Conrad (D-ND), Jeff Bingaman (D-NM) Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), Olympia Snowe (R-Me.) and Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.) are reportedly putting the final touches on a bill that may save President Obama’s chances for passing health-care reform this year....
First, instead of a government-run “public option,” it would set up a nationwide health-insurance co-op.
Now, if this was really going to be a co-op like rural electrical co-ops or your local health-food store — owned and controlled by its workers and the people who use its services — it would be a meaningless but harmless diversion.
...But these aren’t true co-ops. The members wouldn’t choose its officers — the president would. Plus, the secretary of Health and Human Services would have to approve its business plan, and thus could force it to offer whatever benefits, premiums and reimbursement schedules Washington wants. Finally, the federal government would provide start up, and possibly ongoing, subsidies.
A “co-op” run by the federal government, under rules imposed by the federal government and with federal funding is simply government-run health insurance by another name.
Or, as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid put it, “We’re going to have some type of public option, call it ‘co-op,’ call it what you want.”
In Short: This Administration & its Cronies in the House & Senate, as well as the complicit media, are more than happy to NOW label the option formerly known as the “Public Option” a “Co-op” instead. The media will be pleased to present moving diagrams showing pictures of people representing the “Co-op” as if it’s your friendly neighborhood grocery group — a group you REALLY trust. A group made up of your friends and your favorite neighbor.

After intense research including, but not limited to more than a dozen telephone calls, and more than 50 e-mails, here is what we can prove beyond reasonable doubt.
Obama, and the liberals with the support of the government run media have created an extremely dangerous farce!
Here is just a few of the lies and misrepresentations they want you to believe:
1. Town Hall meetings have been successful in convincing them to modify the Obama Health Care Bill. “We’ve heard your concerns and complaints, and are acting appropriately.”
2. Health Care Bill will not include a Public or Government Control Option.
3. Insurance Companies will be free to compete.
4. Obama Health Care Bill will be a collection of non-profit co-ops operating with out Government Intervention, or any Government Control Requirements.
Here are the Facts;
1. Town Hall Meetings and protest have brought a new public awareness of the Obama administration’s tactics, and have directly caused his approval ratings to go down by more than 25% + - 5%.
2. Democrats are scared to death of not being re-elected based on their own words.
3. EVERY TACTIC OBAMA HAS UTILIZED FROM HIRING THUGS, TO SPYING ON AMERICA CITIZENS HAVE BACK FIRED.
4. Obama has lost respect and credibility.
5. At this writing it is estimated that a half dozen Democrats have turned against Obama.
6. The Obama Health Care plan will be exactly word for word as the original.
7. Non-profit co-ops will be under the control of Directors appointed by…….the Barack Hussein Obama Administration, and over seen by the Barack Hussein Obama Administration!
8. It is the hope of Obama that the latest press releases will pacify, and quiet the Republicans, and Conservatives to the point that there will be NO MORE PROTEST, AND FURTHER INVESTIGATIONS.
This is extremely dangerous because it may lead to many patriots to stop protesting, and demanding answers. We did accomplish a birth of new awareness, but that is all. We still have a rough road ahead, and NEED EVERY SINGLE PERSON THAT HAS A DESIRE TO SAVE AMERICA.

Some of the Democratic leadership realized they can maintain their power better by not inciting half the population to attend town halls and make make angry calls to talk radio.
Of course Government already got more control of healthcare in the stimulus bill. Stimulus?
Grassley is absolutely pathetic.
Chuck is what he is. I used to complain to him that farm subsidy programs were not predicated on western values, that it was close to communism. His response to me was that it was a system that the American people wanted. I heard that twice.
He is experienced, and pretty smart, even cagey in the ways of Washington—Columbo like. He will cut a deal, but it is unlikely there will be unintended consequences that he has not forseen.
It is flat out a mistake to participate, and thus put an R on this thing. Grassley will make a deal—there will be more government in our lives.
As of tomorrow, every media outlet will be pushing these fantasy “co-ops” like raffle tickets at a church social.
It’s up to Freepers to get on every web site they can & spread the word this is nothing more than a total SHAM/Trojan Horse.
I am freaked at how many Conservatives are celebrating the demise of the so-called “public option”. It ain’t dead, folks, it just a makeover.
