Glenn Beck fans are fighting back against a campaign led by a black activist organization prompting major advertisers to withdraw from Beck's top-rated Fox News Channel program.

....

Now a husband and wife team of Beck fans has launched a website – DefendGlenn.com – that lists the contact information for advertisers for Beck's and other Fox News programs and provides users with information and suggestions to contact those companies to urge their continued sponsorship. The site also asks users to contact Beck's current patrons to thank them for their loyalty to the Fox News star's program.

"Our goal is to hit advertisers hard with response from Beck fans with real purchasing power, unlike the instigators of this phony Astroturf boycott," the founder of DefendGlenn told WND.

"At some point they will realize they've been punked by a bunch of paid activists, college students and slacker bloggers in their parents' basements who don't purchase their products anyway," said the founder, who asked that his name be withheld.

... is it illegal, or a violation of any ethics laws for a government official to petition and/or coerce private companies to drop advertising sponsorships?

Van Jones is not a government employee, he is Czar, subject to no one.

I know that is not technically correct but for all practical reasons it is.

friend, I don’t believe that visiting that site did not give the government folks information. I am sure that YOU by now have realized that this thugocracy is gathering information on ALL American citizens by whatever means, for the eventual, “crackdown”. You know, things like Martial Law.? In my humble opinion, from a distance, I believe that my American friends ( and many relatives) MUST revolt period. Do not depend on the 2010 elections. You are dealing with absolute thugs and cheaters. Don’t think for a minute that they haven’t prepared for that - they have.!! And just today, I watched Beck’s program and his replacement had 2 car dealers on who were supposed to be paid in 10 days and have not been paid. One is out $600,000.00, the other a million $. They are not going to be paid. They have been had. Glenn, imo, is trying to awaken the the folks to ALL of it, not just Cash for Clunkers!! What the hell is this anyway? What an idiotic program to begin with? And look what is happening. The cars were supposed to be crushed and now they are being re-sold? What a joke. It is like everything else, people need to NOT TRUST THIS CRIMINAL!! No matter the “program” Respectfully, CO

I seriously doubt that, beyond maybe a tracking cookie, the government got jack shit from me when I visited cars.gov.

You don't much about me and that's a good thing. But, rest assured, if the government, or anybody else, tries to invade my computer via the Internet or email, I will know about it.

And, again, you're changing the topic. Why?

I agree, of course, that Cars For Clunkers is/was a horrible program. Prolly the low point, so far, of -7nobama's travesty. Very, very poorly thought out, just like all his other programs.

Not meaning to change the subject by any means. The subjects we could discuss that are relevant today are many right? I’m glad that you have your computer secured. I don’t trust these creeps AT ALL. Not in anything that they say or do. I just can’t see things improving as long as these thugs are jamming and ramming through such major legislation at an absolutely dizzying pace. CO
