Sen. Arlen Specter says critics of the Democrats' health care proposals are not representative of the public's view on the issue.
The Pennsylvania Democrat says people who are angry at town hall meetings don't reflect the broader public opinion of the proposed overhaul.

Oh really? Wait until election time...
You took the words right off my keyboard.
Hey Arlan 0 you Rat. Vote for the pos and find out what the people really think!!!! You are not only highly misinformed, but a dunbass as well!....red
Arlen, I hope Toomey takes you down and wipes the floor with you.
‘Senile’ comes to mind here.....
Sounds more like Tarzan...
Of course not. Katie, Keith, and Chris reflect public opinion. No worries, Senator.
I am afraid by then it will be too late.
He’s been given his marching orders by the Democrats : get in line or you won’t win the primary.
I guess he hasn’t checked Rasmussen, Zogby, or Gallup lately, then. All three show this health insurance reform as opposed by the public. People would prefer nothing over what’s Specter and his buddies in the Democrat Party are trying to push through!
Specter is a dishonest fool.
‘Reflecting’ public opinion, Mr. Specter?
We’re *crystalizing* - perhaps even *leading* - public opinion!
We’re making enough noise to wake up the sheeple, and they’re not liking what they see when they look at you....
He hasn’t gotten any better informed, has he?
Guess you’ll find out when you can’t even make it past the Dem primary, asshat.
He's right, but in the wrong way.
I think the general public is very, very angry about the government trying to nationalize health care like they've nationalized the biggest banks and 2/3s of the domestic auto industry. No-one wants some govt. flunky involved in making healthcare decisions for them or their family. No-one believes it will make healthcare better: more responsive or higher quality (just the opposite in fact). No-one believes it will actually reduce costs - just the opposite.
So the self-center'd traitor to his constituents is probably right. The few vocal people that take the time and make the effort to come to the town halls to voice their opposition are not representative of the tidal wave of opposition that hasn't bothered to come to a TH. Not because the two groups differ on views, just that one group is angry enough to actually come to the THs and let them have it.
Oh really Arlen? Do those recent poll numbers in your re election bid not reflect the opinion of the voters?
Arlen is whistling past the graveyard.
What a putz!
My rep said the calls and emails were running 9-1 against Obama care
I think he will amend his statement to read, "the voters are not representative of the public's view on the issue"
