Is the argument that since she is no longer a danger to President Ford there is no need to lock her up?
To: F15Eagle
After 30 years her joints probably “squeak”

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Of course, that would also be an argument in favor of not giving any jail time to *successful* assassins. I support the proposition that murderers shouldn’t get much jail time—just long enough until they’re executed.

I expect Charles Manson to be released, in order to fill one of Zero’s Czar positions.

I mentioned her pending release a few days ago in the thread covering the story that Manson Family killer Susan Atkins was petitioning to be released from prison.
Squeaky Fromme is certifiably nuts and we'll certainly hear about her future misdoings.
To: jmcenanly
Its a cinch she won’t be trying to kill Reagan.

Has there been any discussion of exactly what position she will be taking
in the Obama administration?
Health and Human Services or Homeland Security?
On the staff of science czar Holdren's population control unit that wants
to put drugs in the water supply might be a right cultural fit.
To: DogBarkTree
She won’t because she failed her mission.

I remember this. We came precipitously close to having “President Nelson Rockefeller”.

Maybe she could take a position on the staff at Rev. Jeremiah Wright's church.
Similar Helter Skelter theology.

. . . the assassins have always been far left wing or mentally unbalanced. Can't both be true?

I think you are thinking of Edgar Smith, concerning Buckley.

Abbott hanged himself in prison in 2002. It’s true Mailer championed Abbott. But Buckley was never associated with him, since he’d learned his lesson years earlier by cultivating a friendship with another criminal, Edgar Smith, which Buckley later came to regret. In any case, Buckley got involved with Smith because he thought the man might be factually innocent, which was never the case with Mailer and Abbott.
