Thank you so much for posting this thread. I grew up in Gallup, NM and have been around the Navajo people all of my life, and I never understood them. lol...
We lost two more Code Talkers this year. There's not very many of them left. They were amazing in their service to America. There are many young men and women from the Navajo tribe who are serving in our military now.

The Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club presented 85-year-old U.S. Marines WWII veteran Nona Johnson with a Veterans of Alaska Honorable Service Medal. She talks about her experience of being a Marine in WWII, when there were very few women in the service.
