Bad news. Republicans taking away the most outrageous provisions of the health care bill making it more palatable and more likely to pass. Keep in mind that every single government programs gets bigger and worse over time. Republicans are apparently working on getting this passed.
All the really bad stuff will come back, will have to come back. Thanks GOP. (Note: Did not say RINO’s)
Can’t they just take a stand when we are actually winning.

Maybe.

How long will it take before we see the first “End-of-Life Counselor” shot dead on a front porch in Texas?

Because it’s better to have at least a decent bill than have it rammed through by the Dems.

I hope it still fails completely or results in a complete start over. But, I would rather have the most erroneous parts removed than have no GOP vote for it yet have the Dems pass it as they want!

“Bad news. Republicans taking away the most outrageous provisions of the health care bill making it more palatable and more likely to pass...”

Exactly what I was thinking.

These dopes need to drop the whole thing.

GET OUT OF OUR LIVES!

I agree with you. It’s just one part, and not even the most egregious of the bill’s contents — it was perhaps just the most shocking and blatant part of it in some ways (people don’t want the government deciding when and how they will die!)

It’s clear that the GOP has no grasp on the REAL state of the Nation’s people. They have a MAJORITY of people against this bill for various reasons. Obama is pulling out all the stops, and where is the GOP? Where would they be if not for Palin “going it alone” so to speak. Is she the ONLY one with the guts to come out slugging back? I sure hope not, but as you said it looks like the Republicans will be “bipartisan” and support this just like they supported the Stimulus bills, and the Bill of Attainder Bill (AIG Bonus 90% tax bill).

Frankly, with the exception of Palin and perhaps a few others who could POSSIBLY stand up and say SOMETHING at least, I think the Republicans see the writing on the wall and are trying to get their share of the pie Obama is offering up in his fascist dream-state.

Well you hit the nail on the head!

Can’t they just take a stand when we are actually winning.

They are taking a stand...just not with us. (Is it safe yet to say they've betrayed America's principles and people without being branded a troll?)

Agree with you. Rather than fight to have certain objectionable portions of the bill tossed out or modified, all of the members of the GOP should be dead-set against the entire bill, because the whole thing sucks. No compromises, no small “editing victories” — just standing up against the entire thing and outlining to the American people, in detail, exactly why it is such a horrendous idea.

Forget “the spirit of bipartisanship,” this is war. But the GOP has no spine at all.

You've got it. And after all is said and done, the death panel provision will be slipped back in when the bill is in conference.

Watered down tyranny is still tyranny!!!

GET THE GOVERNMENT OUT OF HEALTH CARE COMPLETELY AND KEEP THEM OUT!

This ENTIRE bill has to be thrown out!

A compromise from the Republicans will still produce the same result --- socialized health care -- and government control over all aspects of our lives.

RINOs are tools of the demrat party. Surely you don’t expect them to be anthing more than they are.

The “Death Panel” provision is only one of dozens of provisions that will result in the destruction of of the best health care in the world. And the politicians don’t care one wit about our health. What they care about is having access to and control of the money that comes along with a government-run one-payer system.

In any case, I don’t think removing the “death panal” provision will materially change the intense opposition to Onadacare. There are still many issues to grab on to. Among them: 1. Paying for Onadacare. How can an alleged 40 million people be included and cost other tax payers money? That alone is fertile ground. 2. Rationing health care. This is a product of my first point. All government-run medical coverage ultimately must resort to rationing because there is just not enough money to cover the ultimate cost. 3. The inclusion of publicly paid for abortions. This issue alone has yet to explode. If the Marxist Onada and his angry band of commies think they can make me pay for abortions with no serious push back they are very much mistaken.
