FACT CHECK: No 'death panel' in health care bill (AP picks up Hussein's water)
State Controlled AP ^ | 8/11/09 3:04 pm (right when Hussein was blabbing...what a coinky-dink) | RICARDO ALONSO-ZALDIVAR (AP writer)

WASHINGTON – Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin says the health care overhaul bill would set up a "death panel." Federal bureaucrats would play God, ruling on whether ailing seniors are worth enough to society to deserve life-sustaining medical care. Palin and other critics are wrong.

Nothing in the legislation would carry out such a bleak vision. The provision that has caused the uproar would instead authorize Medicare to pay doctors for counseling patients about end-of-life care, if the patient wishes.

OBVIOUSLY WRITTEN BY SOME YOUNG HACK PUNK WHO HASN'T READ THE BILL OR UNDERSTAND WHAT IT MEANS WHEN A GOVERNMENT WORKER COMES INTO YOUR HOME TO "SUGGEST THE BEST OPTIONS".

My God, I hate the unthinking, stupid, brain-dead, Kool-Aid drinking media. This kind of CRAP will be repeated tomorrow on TV shows, Sarah Palin will be portrayed as a kook, and NO ONE WILL SHOW THE VIEWERS WHAT IS IN THE BILL.

The media is scrambling to save Hussein on this piece of s*** bill that will crush liberty and destroy our health care system.

What about the stories out of Oregon where the state has single payer where people are denied treatment and offered assisted suicide instead?

Are they trying to pretend that won’t happen everywhere?

There you go.

They can call it the “life panel” which means they decide who lives.

There, doesn’t that make you feel better?

THESE ARE THE ACTUAL WORDS OF THE BILL 3200 (parens are from me)

Page 425 Lines 4-12 - Government mandates Advance Care Planning Consultants. (Think Senior Citizens end of life.)

Page 425 Lines 17-19 - Government will instruct and consult regarding living wills, durable powers of attorney. (Mandatory!)

Page 425 Lines 22-25, 426 Lines 1-3 - Government provides approved list of end of life resources, guiding you in death.

Page 427 Lines 15-24 - Government mandates program for orders for end of life. (MANDATES ORDERS FOR END OF YOUR LIFE The Government has a say in how your life ends.)

Page 429 Lines 1-9 - An “Advanced Care Planning Consultant” will be used frequently as patients health deteriorates. (CONSULTANT CHOSEN BY DEMOCRATS)

Page 429 Lines 10-12 - “advanced care consultation” may include an ORDER for end of life plans. (AN ORDER from Government!)

Page 429 Lines 13-25 - The Government will specify which Doctors can write an end of life order. (SO IT WON’T BE ONE YOU KNOW BUT ONE CHOSEN BY OBAMANITES)

Nothing in the legislation would carry out such a bleak vision.

Nothing in the bill prohibits it either. The same applies to abortion and illegal coverage.

Unless the bill specifically prohibits something, the law assumes it's acceptable. That's why the bill is basically void of prohibitions. It leaves the door open for anything the Socialists deem appropriate or necessary at a later date - when no one is paying attention.

“Death Panel” doesn’t even refer to the end of life counseling sessions!!

It refers to the proposed third party that sits in judgement of which treatments are “cost effective” in regards to the patients health and age.

Make no mistake, the seniors WILL BE DENIED treatments because of their age, as will smokers, and the obese!

This is simply misdirection that every talking head in the SRM will be parroting. IT WON’T WORK THIS TIME!!!

The left thinks the name of a thing is all-important. The substance is inconsequential. So if you rename Strychnine to be Hearts ‘n’ Honey then no one should be afraid of it.

Scan away.

The word "death" appears twice, in some provision limiting the liability of certain nursing facilities to $100,000 in case deficiencies cause the "death of a resident".

Palin needs to hit back hard. She needs to make another statement calling the press and 0bama on their outright lies and quote directly from the bill and challenge everybody to come to their own conclusions on it by READING FROM THE ACTUAL BILL and not take the press word for it. Damning words need to be spoken in that you cannot trust a press that is so driven to be part of the 0bama and Demonrat machine and thinks it can get away with these lies that are easily refutable. The press needs to go down with this and be challenged because they are not an honest organization. This is a dangerous precedent when the media is controlled by one party and political beliefs and Palin cannot let this stand and could hurt them by challenging them on the actual wording in the bill and not their attempts to confuse people on the politics of it all.

A provision in the House bill written by Rep. Earl Blumenauer, D-Ore.

Let us suppose the Rep. Blumenauer, being a Democrat, really wants to see a health care reform bill passed during the Obama administration. Based on this assumption it follows that Blumenauer must be an idiot. Because anyone with the slightest awareness of public relations can see that Blumenauer's provision, no matter how "well-intentioned" it may be, was going to be a "poison pill" that derails the entire bill.
