Government to Savage: You can't think that! (Savage loses another round)
wORLDNETDAILY ^

Posted on 08/11/2009 8:33:20 AM PDT by whatisthetruth

The government in the United Kingdom has dispatched a letter to talk radio icon Michael Savage that he must "repudiate" the views the government has attributed to him before he even can be considered for removal from a banned-in-Britain government list.

"It was emphasized that the onus is on your client to publicly renounce the statements which formed the basis of the decision to exclude him," said a recent letter from the Litigation and Employment Group at the Treasury Solicitor's Department in London.

"Any such repudiation must be genuine and comprehensive, and persuade my client that this is a true shift of position, in which case, my client would be prepared to consider this," said the letter signed only "Treasury Solicitors" on the stationery that included the names Simon Harker, head of division, and Anne Werbicki, team leader.

I think it’s better that Britain have the choice whether or not to let Mr. Savage visit, than to ruin the idea of national sovereignty and have that return upon our own heads. No rush to a one world government please.

What is not so good is that in the process Britain published several calumnies about Savage to America. For that, its interests in America could be attached in a lawsuit in America because we do have slander laws.

They were? I thought they were too small for Britain to single out their identity.

I'm sure the 'hope you get Aids and die' comment that got Savage thrown off the air on MSNBC was put on a par with the Godhatesfags activities of the Phelps crew.

I don't think any one else in America is as hard on homosexuals as Savage and the Phelps folk, however I don't think the religious pastors over in England can criticize homos anymore without getting arrested.

Phelps focuses doggedly on the USA, not uttering a peep about any other place. How high minded of Britain to care about the gays in the USA.

GUILTY, until proven innocent. And the communist liberals would have our beautiful, free nation be likewise.

That is not the issue. They equated him with terrorists and criminals. That is the issue. A nation can’t slander individuals with impunity. That is why he is suing them.

I’m sorry to mention it; but, surely you know that this is the way Hilter started. Should Savage just volunteer to be the first American pulled out of line for the ovens?

This just keeps getting more interesting by the day.

Listening to his guest host today. He said they had emails that linked to prime minister to the banning of MS. This will get more interesting. Has Rush said anything about this yet?

Why not just stay here in the US. Who cares if he goes to Great Britain. I find it ridiculous that he is on the radio asking for donations for his legal expenses.

First MS, then you. If Obama and Friends keep going we will all be bowing to Mecca.

Savage. Fighting the battle for freedom you are too ignorant to fight.

Did Savage ever want to go to England in the first place? I think he should boycott them no matter what they do now.

This is about a LOT more than visiting England. It is about their policies of shutting up conservative views. If they can ban anyone based on their conservative views while allowing known Islamist hate-mongers into their country, it is not long before the US will be doing the same. Already we see the trappings of control that the marxist are bringing to the US.

Savage should laugh in their faces and tell them to insert their commie country in a dark orifice. He should be proud of his banning instead of trying to get it rescinded after they came out with this utter nonsense.

I think you underestimate the fight in MS. This is an issue of principle. Besides he likes the attention!

And I’m surprised to read comments here from conservatives like “Who cares.”

There are always a few that pop up. They hate MS more than they love their freedom.

no rush will not acknowlege that he even knows who SAVAGE is, the only host that I know of who mentions this on a regular basis is Bill Cunningham, he mentions it every Sunday nite, Jerry Doyle used to mention it but I don’t know if he still does,, I haven’t listened to him for awhile.

Dittos, espically since he donated money to former Gov. 'Moonbeam' Brown ..... a hardcore lefty as far as I'm concerned.
