Optimists 'less likely to suffer heart attacks or die'This means that if I look on the bright side of things, I will live forever. That fits because it has been gloomy ever since Jan 20, 2009 and I'm sure we're all gonna die!

As far as I know, the human death rate is 100% or so by age 120. Optomist or not.

i am an optimist, but am prone to high anxiety when dealing with liberals and fascists How many times this year have I felt my heart aflutter? LOTS! (and I am under 45.). Just get me through the next three and a half years and I should be good to live forever. LOL

Nonsense. Pessimists are never disappointed. :-)LOL. As one who married I pessimist, this one made me laugh. It is SO true! Hats off to you and you sense of humor too. I think maybe they didn't include that us optimists also get the healthy laughter as a result of the pessimists' good humor. :-D.

Optimism reduces tension, enhances emotional well being and promotes cardiovascular health. Pessimists tend to have higher blood pressure, anxiety and stress. A realist thinks positively but with common sense. There's nothing wrong with hanging out on cloud nine though it's alway wise to wear a parachute.

Why can’t people figure that?
Look, if you are pessimist, one of two things are going to happen. The good thing happens, YAY, good thing happens. The bad thing happens, well, I right! Yay, I was right!
It’s a win/win!

One thing that has always fascinated me is the link between mental and physical health. I'm convinced that someone can make themselves susceptible to physical illness by way of having a consistently negative attitude. How does this happen? Is it hormonal? In my mind this link is beyond question. Who ever can properly discern it would be doing the world a great service.

A close read of the press release says it all! This junk science opens the door for randomized studies. They spent all that time on a study that was not randomized (non study) so they could lobby for more funding so they can then do a study based on acceptable scientific methods. Insanity!

Sometimes these big, scientific announcements are posters of the obvious.

I believe there has been one exception, although it was about 2,000 years ago...

This very thought was best stated a long time ago:
