Facing an onslaught of opposition to health reform, the White House on Monday opened a Reality Check website with a viral tool aimed at online combat on everything from rationing to euthanasia.
The site incorporates lessons learned from the Obama campaigns Learn the Truth About Barack Obama site, which covered everything from the birth certificate to William Ayers to a recent e-mail smear falsely claims Michelle ordered room service, but she never even stayed at the hotel.
Aides to President Barack Obama say the key is to respond to viral rumors with an aggressive, equally viral response.
We're offering the site and tools to empower individuals across the country to take this content into their own hands and share it among their networks, a senior administration official said. That's the sort of bottom-up process that got us to the White House, and it's what's going to deliver meaningful change to the health insurance system.

Or a violence front.
He and Sebelius have given their imprimatur to goonion violence against protesters.
That sums it up nicely.
I think this is a dumb move on their part. It’s like suing for libel. They are just insuring that anyone not familiar with the issues hears about them.
They ought to be able to see the difference between rumors about an individual, which a site like this might be good for, and rumors about a policy issue that touches everyone’s life. When you are talking about the latter, this is more likely to fan the flames than put out the fires.
In the end, I think they lose credibility with their bogus assurances.
But ... it’s not about HIM...
Gee, sounds as if they are ‘paying for & organizing’ stuff to ‘manipulate & distort’ public discussion ...
VIDEO
In the video Dr. Patel never says Obamacare "will forbid many forms of rationing", the substance of her response is that "rationing is happening now", and argument that government healthcare rationing will occur are "laughable" because the POTUS said so.
Their argument against what they call "disinformation" is that "its wrong because we say so".
This is the argument posed by a 'clinical scholar' - no substance, no context, no plan, no clue.
Pathetic.
From Allen's post:
"The new White House site has built-in tools allowing users to e-mail every page and video to their friends and families and is linked to social networks with preloaded messages to encourage folks to share the content. The videos feature administration officials putting a face on reform by tackling issues in a casual, straightforward way.
There's also an FAQ that, when e-mailed, includes a long message full of the facts about reform in a similar format to some chain e-mails that offer what the White House considers a long list of falsehoods. The 2,000-word FAQ covers everything from rationing to a lot of seniors seem to be concerned about a provision in the House bill that would provide counseling for end of life care. They think it sounds like the government will come along every five years and require you to talk about how you want to end your life."
Those will go over big -- overflowing mailboxes with 2,000 word documents, plus linky-loops, is a dandy way to turn people off -- especially since many Obama supporters have the attention spans of a gnat. Even the brighter ones won't appreciate the spam, I'm afraid.
This is the stuff spam filters were created for.
Obama has ALREADY LOST THE VIRAL FRONT.
People are no longer afraid to speak publicly against Obama personally and the medical program specifically.
Obama OWNS this failure.
Obama can’t stop person to person communication.
Obama only has the delusional state MSM to goose step with him.

the end game is nearly in sight...
After 30 days of town halls and protests, the vast majority of the public remains against it, but Pelosi and Reid come back to DC and pass it largely intact. Public outrage goes over the top, at least a dozen states make 10th Amendment claims that it does not apply to them. Then in the 2010 elections the red-to-purple states vote solidly GOP, putting them in control of Congress, touching off violence and rioting in the big, blue cities. These events start the process that the Russians predicted of the country starting to come apart at the seams.
I hope I am wrong.
