When one party to a dispute is willing to use violence, and the other is not, the first always — always — wins.

I respectfully disagree. Even though the MSM sides with them, America
is still a capitalist society unwilling to accept thuggery and those who
protect those actions. Talk about painting themselves into a corner.

The Unions and the MSM are doing themselves no favors.

2004 Libertarian Party Platform Immigration:

Immigration
The Issue: We welcome all refugees to our country and condemn the efforts of U.S. officials to create a new “Berlin Wall” which would keep them captive. We condemn the U.S. government’s policy of barring those refugees from our country and preventing Americans from assisting their passage to help them escape tyranny or improve their economic prospects.

The Principle: We hold that human rights should not be denied or abridged on the basis of nationality. Undocumented non-citizens should not be denied the fundamental freedom to labor and to move about unmolested. Furthermore, immigration must not be restricted for reasons of race, religion, political creed, age or sexual preference. We oppose government welfare and resettlement payments to non-citizens just as we oppose government welfare payments to all other persons.

Solutions: We condemn massive roundups of Hispanic Americans and others by the federal government in its hunt for individuals not possessing required government documents. We strongly oppose all measures that punish employers who hire undocumented workers. Such measures repress free enterprise, harass workers, and systematically discourage employers from hiring Hispanics.

Transitional Action: We call for the elimination of all restrictions on immigration, the abolition of the Immigration and Naturalization Service and the Border Patrol, and a declaration of full amnesty for all people who have entered the country illegally.

I made a response in post 34.
I have no idea why you need a 5 year old statement. Here is the platform currently, which is significantly different from what you keep posting.

Some libertarian ideas are okay with me, others I disagree with. That said, an earlier poster had it right:

WHERE IS THE RNC IN PUTTING OUT THIS KIND OF PRESS RELEASE???

They are a political party that fights the people that oppose things like abortion, total homosexuality in the military, allowing the world to move to America, etc. and they want to rule the United States.

The Libertarian Party wants to defeat all others and impose it’s rule on our nation at every level. Part of their dishonesty campaign is to convince you that they only affect Federal laws.

As Libertarians describe it.

“While the Libertarian Party does not have any elected officials at the national level, the party does have Libertarians elected to local offices across the nation.”

The new version is an attempted cover for the truth, here it is. This is as far as they will go even in these times, the 2004 platform is the longer version of their true goals although they say the same thing in this short version.

3.4 Free Trade and Migration

We support the removal of governmental impediments to free trade. Political freedom and escape from tyranny demand that individuals not be unreasonably constrained by government in the crossing of political boundaries. Economic freedom demands the unrestricted movement of human as well as financial capital across national borders. However, we support control over the entry into our country of foreign nationals who pose a threat to security, health or property.

1990 Libertarian Party Platform:

17. IMMIGRATION
We hold that human rights should not be denied or abridged on the basis of nationality. We condemn massive roundups of Hispanic Americans and others by the federal government in its hunt for individuals not possessing required government documents. We strongly oppose all measures that punish employers who hire undocumented workers. Such measures repress free enterprise, harass workers, and systematically discourage employers from hiring Hispanics.

Undocumented non-citizens should not be denied the fundamental freedom to labor and to move about unmolested. Furthermore, immigration must not be restricted for reasons of race, religion, political creed, age, or sexual preference.

We therefore call for the elimination of all restrictions on immigration, the abolition of the Immigration and Naturalization Service and the Border Patrol, and a declaration of full amnesty for all people who have entered the country illegally. We oppose government welfare payments to non-citizens just as we oppose government welfare payments to all other persons.

Because we support the right of workers to cross borders without harassment, we oppose all government-mandated “temporary worker” plans. Specifically, we condemn attempts to revive the Bracero Program as government imposition of second-class status on Mexican-born workers.

We welcome all refugees to our shores and condemn the efforts of U.S. officials to create a new “Berlin Wall” which would keep them captive. We condemn the U.S. government’s policy of barring those refugees from our shores and preventing Americans from assisting their passage to help them escape tyranny or improve their economic prospects.

They aren’t “aboard”, they are trying to defeat conservatives and their only “victories” are when they win or they siphoned off enough votes to get the Democrat into office.

They only hurt conservative politics.

The party is only a few decades old. I don’t see the point or benefit of criticizing them for evolving a more rational stance. The dates of your quotes seem to make the case that more rational (IMO) individuals have been influencing their positions over the years. Looks like a good thing to me. I’m not a Libertarian BTW. Just some observations here.

We can not afford any votes siphoned off. No third parties this time. But we need ant-Obama allies of all shape and size.

You ignored post 49, they are almost 40 years old and they haven’t “evolved” at all.

Name one position that they have changed. immigration? no, abortion? no.

The only changes they have made in 40 years is to take up the new leftism’s positions on homosexuals and the military and homos and “marriage” and homos “adopting” kids.

The dem party platform for 2008, I refuse to old quotes as positions change, calls for US energy independence. The r platform calls for eliminating as many nuclear weapons as possible. I could go on as the major party platforms are quite long. The point is, there are many shades of r’s and d’s. There are many shades of l’s as well. Very few adhere strictly to the party platform. I like the statement that was released in this thread. I think it's unfortunate that you see it as nothing more than an opportunaty to show your disdain. If anything, the r’s and d’s should be criticized for their silence on this issue IMO.

They are Americans and if they want to issue a press release they have every RIGHT to do so.

Just because they did what you wouldn’t. Just because they did what the RNC wouldn’t and make an official press release.

Look at the RNC and not even a piece of bravado amongst them.

You have probably read and spoken to many Libertarians, just as I have for many years.

Do Libertarians historically become more agitated and upset against the liberal abortionist agenda, the liberal homosexual agenda, the liberal immigration agenda, the leftist public school agenda, the leftist ACLU agenda, the leftist porn and kiddie porn agenda, or do they get more agitated and upset against the traditional and conservative moral and political of traditional conservative Americans?

Why would I be? I made it quite clear I don't agree with quite a bit of it. You put me in the position of responding to outdated policy issues. I don't have this agenda against them like you do so I have to be a member? This statement they put out is the right thing to do. You seem so blinded by antipathy...
They are defending Americans. I agree with them on this. Wholeheartedly.
