I'm 67, my Dad told me exactly that but at the time they hadn't been in power that long but he sure knew the track record of FDR. Then the family (like many families) ended up in ferrin' places fightin' ferriners.

He also taught be about the fifth columnists and I'm reminded of Ayn Rand's, "To All Innocent Fifth Columnists", now THAT is worth the read. When you read it, remember that it was written in 1941.
