McCain took absolutely no risk in voting against someone who was going to be appointed either way.
Only after McCain counted the votes and knew his vote didn’t matter did he announce which way he was going with it.
Meh.
“Only after McCain counted the votes and knew his vote didnt matter did he announce which way he was going with it”
Correct.
McCain does the right thing when he’s sure the democrats have enough votes to do the wrong thing without him.
You knew that already.
BFD he’s up for re-election.......hope the voters throw him out but don’t think they will.........
Remind me again of the bullet we dodged by NOT electing Sarah and McCain?
I’ll take that back...
Sarah needs to build up a head of steam. And she is.
If McCain was President right this minute, we’d all still be fat and sassy and smug and wouldn’t have anything to rail against.
Historically, Republicans ALWAYS do better when in the minority because God knows so few of them can actually LEAD...so, I’ll shut up now, LOL!
I just got an e-mail from Orrin Hatch, patting himself on the back for voting against Sotomayor — nice try buddy, now follow that up with some hard nosed dealings against Obama/Reid/Pelosi/Emmanuel “health” care!!!
So he got this one right.Big deal.Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
I guess the Mini-Maverick voted for the wise Latina again today?
Yes. Grahamnesty voted for Sotomayor today.
There’s that “broken clock” thing again.
Awww, ya beat me by “that much.” In my best Maxwell Smart accent.
Republicans Supporting Sotomayor (9 of 40)
Sen. Lindsey Graham (S.C.)
Sen. Lamar Alexander (Tenn.)
Sen. Christopher Bond (Mo.)
Sen. Susan Collins (Maine)
Sen. Olympia Snowe (Maine)
Sen. Richard Lugar (Ind.)
Sen. Mel Martinez (Fla.)
Sen. Judd Gregg (N.H.)
Traitors.
And as far as I am concerned - this should be a campaign issue in every state where Senators voted in favor of confirmation - They decided to approve of an openly Racist and unconstitutional judge (because she also is on record as believing that judges MAKE law).
