Big changes proposed for Alaska ethics law

Alaska's attorney general is recommending sweeping changes to state ethics law and the process of dealing with complaints against public officials, following multiple complaints against former Gov. Sarah Palin that she cited as a reason for leaving office.

Attorney General Daniel Sullivan said Wednesday the changes, which would apply only to the state's administrative branch, would discourage abuse of the law. His opinion comes two weeks after an ethics investigator's confidential report on a complaint against Palin was leaked to The Associated Press.

Need to impose penalties directly to those who file frivilous law suits. The State’s AG should look at Rule 11 or 12, FRCP for guidance.

Democrats always appoint their cronies and have a press that looks the other way. They told us during Watergate that if a Democrat crook was in power, they would unleash Woodward and Bernstein again. I remember Democrats saying this.

Then came the nineties. Democrats always lie.

Palin’s replacement will be the chief beneficiary.

Nothing more than making sure they never face “pay back” from
irate Palin supporters.

They always knew what was happening to Sarah was a travesty.

Too bad Sarah was not thinking ahead of the game to permit this to happen to herself. It is rare that a stupid leglislater gets to experience the consequences of her own stupid law making. She meant well...

I love Sarah Palin. But she has some traveling to do.

Figures it happens after Sarah leaves office..

Didn't take 'em any time at all AFTER she left. And how bout that "independent" investigator who didn't think Sarah should be reimbursed by her PAC...and then leaks it to the press.

I came very close to moving up there 2 years ago.

One reason was all the vipers destroying WA state, but it looks like there's snakes falling out of the trees in AK.
