You could be forgiven for thinking that a serious campaign is afoot - aided and abetted by the national Republican Party - to question Barack Obama's citizenship. Over the past two weeks, an inordinate amount of news coverage has been afforded to "birthers," conspiracy theorists who claim that the President was not born in Hawaii, as his birth records indicate, but in Kenya.
It is not Obama's right-wing opponents, however, who are devoting the most attention to this obscure, Internet-driven "movement," if one can even use that label to describe such a paranoid groupuscule. Rather, it's liberals, bent on portraying their conservative opponents as extremists - and changing the subject to help a President under increasing scrutiny for the substance of his policies - who are driving this story.
Making the rounds in the propagation of this meme is a deceptively edited video produced by far-left Web site FireDogLake, in which an interviewer chases Republican congressmen around the Capitol asking if they believe Obama is a natural-born citizen. Some respond in the affirmative while others ignore the questioner, and it is this latter handful that liberals have proffered as evidence that the GOP is "fearful" of disparaging its "birther base."
But the refusal of Republican congressmen to answer questions from a Michael Moore wanna-be is understandable; public figures are frequently accosted on the street by crazy people and amateur propagandists wielding cameras. In fact, it was later revealed that one of the supposedly fearful Republicans running from the camera's glare was a Democrat late for a vote.

What birth records???!!!
Trying to kill the messenger before the bad news arrives. They are scared to death. Any and all probes in to any and all aspects of Obamas past will destroy them.
Has there been a History Channel Biography of him yet? Wonder when that is coming out? Ought to be real short, lol.

I hope you’re right, bye bye Main stream media...let’s hope.
Talk about a trump card for the next 20 years: you can’t believe what they write, they were part of Birth-gate.
I’m waiting for the news libs to explain to me why Obama has not released his original long form birth certificate.
They are getting the “look”. Soon they will start blaming each other for the failure. By the time election season starts they will run from the Communists like “scalded Dogs”.
I think that academics will have a rich field of study in contrasting the untempered contumely of their present language with, say, the much more temperate language used by American journalists with respect to the Soviet Union --- a determined enemy which waged cold war and proxy wars on us for decades (Walter Duranty, for instance, being perhaps the most infamous case), or with the positively glowing language journalists often employed when discussing the murderous Khmer Rouge.
The whole thing was started by liberal dems. It started with them questioning if McCain was a Natural Born Citizen because of his Canal Zone birth. The New York Times ran an article about it and in the article pointed out what information the candidates released. A Democrat, Hillary Clinton supporter Phil Berg noticed that Obama hadn’t released anything and started the Obama Birther movement. Berg is still one of the leading players in this.
As an interesting side note, the Senate saw McCain’s Natural Born Citizenship status as so important that they voted on a resolution declaring McCain an NBC. Obama voted for this resolution.
Unfortunately some GOP people have jump on the liberal band wagon.
Personally, at this point, I’d rather see Obama remain in office rather than have this birth cert issue cause him to resign. He’s screwing up so badly (Cap & Tax, National Health Care, Massive Deficits, higher taxes etc. etc.) that if the Republicans can get their collective act together, they’ll be back in fat city.
He may be the country’s worst nightmare, but he’s a dream for the GOP. In 2010, the GOP will take back Congress and, if they can nominate a real conservative, they’ll take back the White House in 2012. And they’ll have Barack Obama (with a lot of help from Nancy Pelosi) to thank.
Notice how the definition of "birther" has been hijacked.
Liberals believe that these signs say "OBAMA WAS BORN IN KENYA"
It's on I-35, between Waco and Temple, at about mile marker 315.
The billboard is on the northbound side, but faces north. So, you will see it on the left side of the road as you drive south.
Chris Matthews hasn’t talked up an issue this much since he went 500 consecutive shows blabbing about “Macaca”.
IIRC, Bill Clinton was the subject of an interactive CD-ROM titled "The Man from Hope" - before he was even inaugurated. If anything of the sort has been published on Obama, it must be a patchwork of speculation.
Besides, who needs a biography anyway? Zero's face is plastered on countless ghetto t-shirts. That's what's important. /s
The image I get of the Obamunist is one of him in a castle with LEGON of enemy troops (read conservatives and patriots) surrounding it in the form of a siege. From time to time the trebushey is loosed with a devastating round of either his birth records, deathcare reform, crap and tax, takeovers of our manufacturing and on and on. He is stuck inside and can't come out. Meanwhile his walls crumble down around him.....
Didnt the Congress do this (vote) just a couple of weeks ago for Bama. It was written with the Birthday to Hawaii bill something or other (not real clear)
I admire you.
Anybody who could stomach Chrissy Matthews enough to watch even one show all the way through, much less watching enough shows to know that he outdid his 500-show Macaca marathon is a better man than I am.
