Senator Christopher S. Bond of Missouri, a Republican who is retiring after four terms in the Senate, said on Wednesday that he would vote to confirm Judge Sonia Sotomayor, President Obamas nominee for the Supreme Court, despite some disagreements with some of her rulings and public statements.
I do agree that Judge Sotomayor has proven herself a well-qualified jurist, Mr. Bond said on the Senate floor. I do agree that she has proven herself as a talented and accomplished student, federal prosecutor, corporate litigator, federal trial judge, and federal appeals court judge.

Good grief. I thought this guy had a clue. Evidently not.
If in fact they have the votes to put her on the Supreme Court, quit all the BS and get back to the peoples business. Stop all the speaches, it’s a waste of time and nobody cares.

Another worthless RINO.
I bet his decision has nothing to do with integrity or ethics and every thing to do with some perk or benefit he’s getting behind the Emperor’s curtain.
She seems to have the votes, so there’s nothing to be accomplished by stonewalling her or the vote, in my opinion. I don’t think they have to agree with her opinions, they just have to acknowledge that she is qualified.
On the other hand, I want them to save up their ammo for the health care vote and any other similar debacle. Those votes are more worthy of standing against, because many Dems could be persuaded to vote against such a bill if they know they aren’t going to have the cover of blaming an inevitable failure on Republicans.
Dear Lord, will these Republicans EVER get it???
I live in Missouri and I am outright disgusted that Senator Bond is doing this! I understand McCaskill (she’s a lost cause), but BOND???
Well, since he’s retiring, I guess he’s figuring that he’ll just screw us all.
And now we get to have Roy Blunt (who’s been in DC WAAAAAY too long) as the Missouri GOP’s “anointed one” to go up against Robin Carnahan! Seriously, is the GOP really trying to lose?
I don’t know. You may be right. How do you come to the conclusion this woman is a great jurist?
She’s been shot down 4 of 6 times her decisions went to the SCOTUS.
She has said she is a judicial activist, and legislates from the bench.
She has made evaluations of White men vs Latina women, a blatantly racial exercise.
What is redeeming about this woman other than the fact that she is a Latina? This whole thing is a racial based exercise.
I think it is important to go on the record with the truth.
Here. Could you vote to confirm a person guilty of this?

Any Republican that votes for Sotomayer should be kicked out of office.
He’s walking away with his retirement, his medical package (better than what they are offering us), his “pension” for an elected position, what does an aristocrat like him care about the peasants who elected him?
But for the LIFE of me, I CAN’T understand how the good people of South Carolina keep ELECTING that panty-waste wussie capon yellow belly Lindsey Graham to office??!!!
Republican - Democrat - Same Result
Celebrating one party rule in the United States since Bush, Sr.
“Senator Christopher S. Bond of Missouri, a Republican who is retiring after four terms in the Senate”
What a cowardly POS.
Now and then, I wonder why the heck I voted for him.
Mark
UGH!!
Kit Bond supports racism. I will remember that.
This jerk-off is retiring?? GOOD!
He’s not running again. I thanked him for stabbing Americans in the back before he left town.
