Former Florida GOP chair endorses Crist Florida Sen. candidate, Charlie Crist, announces that Al Cardenas, a former chair of the Florida Republican party, is officially backing his Senate bid.
In endorsing him, Cardenas also applauds Marco Rubio's accomplishments and "spirited campaign".
Today, I am pleased to announce my support of Governor Charlie Crists candidacy for the U.S. Senate in 2010, said Cardenas who served as Chairman of the Republican Party from 1998-2003. I witnessed Charlies energy, focus, and leadership as he went on to become our Commissioner of Education and Attorney General. Governor Crist re-energized the states top lawyer office and took that momentum to the Governors Mansion. He remains one of the most popular governors in our states history.
I have a long history with Speaker Marco Rubio; personally, professionally, and politically- along with a great respect for his passion and his ability to articulate the conservative principles that we share, said Cardenas. I believe Marco has waged a spirited campaign and whichever path Marco chooses he has earned and deserves our respect."
As we look to the 2010 election cycle, I urge Republicans to unite the Republican Party by standing behind Governor Crist. With Governor Crist atop the Ticket, I am confident that our party will achieve sweeping victories in 2010.
Crist and his poeple are stiff arming everyone.
I hope to see Rubio grind him into the dirt.
Rubio is too far to the right for me but I WOULD VOTE FOR HIM if I could! Crist wiggles too much for me. Rubio will win what is looking more and more like a “cat fight”!
Crist and his poeple are stiff arming everyone.
Sounds like someone is taking lessons from the Obama administration.
The Machine Politicians try to assure one of their own gets nominated and elected AGAIN so they can dance with the Democrats in COngress AGAIN.
FLUSH THIS JERK!!!!!
Nominate RUBIO!!!!!
Why do republicans think they can win by running RINO’s?
It’s time for a third party we arent getting what we want with the two we have.
Huh? How is he too far right? How can ANYONE get too far to the right?
All Country Club Republicans support and endorse Christ. This I expect.
I will also say that if Chrits gets the Republican nomination, and I expect that he will, the Democrat will win the election.
I will not vote for Christ.
Now I anm gonna be stuck with 2 RINOS>
Good point!
I’ll never vote for Crist. He is not a true Republican. He made a spectacle of himself when he made a big deal of accepting the stimulus money (which most of us did not support) and got on stage with Obama. It was a slap in the face to Florida Republicans, in my opion.
I threw my vote away and did not vote for Crist or the Dem candidate. I will NOT vote for him for Senator. In my opinion he is nothing more than a Democrat Lite.
Republicans can win running a RINO, its the conservatives that lose.
Just what the Republicans need — another sex scandal. And not the good kind.
Usually FL Republicans vote in the primary only for the high name-ID candidate, as they are so uninformed and too occupied to research the candidates.
Yeah, well what really proves that Crist is an oxygen waster is his BS statement when Riviera Beach used imminent domain domain to grab property and give it to developers for a rich folks marina.
He had no problem with it at all.
I don’t care what else he claims, if he is for taking our property rights, he is worthless.
