In the realm of street art, the posters portraying President Barack Obama as the Joker, as played by the late Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight, aren't high art.
They aren't like the iconic images of "Hope'' that sprouted during the Obama camapign. But then, these are the post-campaign portraits of discontent in some quarters.
And, like their predecessors, the newest posters are becoming an Internet sensation among those for whom a picture is worth 1,000 words--or one word, in the case of this poster campaign: "socialism."
Looking at the anonymously created posters that started on the streets of L.A. and have spread to the World Wide Web, Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable President Earl Ofari Hutchinson called the depiction politically mean-spirited and dangerous.

Is it the White House's contention that the anger that some members of Congress are seeing at town hall meetings, especially over health-care reform, is manufactured, Obama aide Robert Gibbs was asked today.
"I think some of it is, yes,'' Gibbs replied. "In fact, I think you've had groups today, Conservatives for Patients' Rights, that have bragged about organizing and manufacturing that anger.''
Like making posters.
Outside the White House after meeting with Obama today, Democratic Sens. Dick Durbin of Illinois and Chuck Schumer of New York both dismissed the significance of the boisterous protesters who have been interrupting Democratic lawmakers' events.
"It is a small fringe group," Schumer told the Huffington Post, "and if we let a small group of people who want to monopolize the conversation and not listen to the facts win, you may as well hang it up."
"These town hall meetings have been orchestrated by the tea baggers and the birthers to just be a free-for-alls, make a lot of noise, go on YouTube and show discord," Durbin said.(continued)

I guess only Leftists are allowed to be community organizers.
I don’t get it.
This is free speech. Freedom of expression. Satire = protected speech.
Dissent is patriotic.
Question authority.
Speak truth to power.
What part of this does the Left not understand?
According to these douchbags, EVERYTHING in opposition to Obama is made up!
How utterly disastrous to have this nation in the hands of such frigging ding dongs!
Hey lefties, we don’t need to “manufacture” it!
Perfect time for me to use this new quote by LENIN for political success:
Accuse others of what you do.
Vladimir Ilyich Lenin
It’s funny that it wasn’t “hate” when the Commie ‘RATS were doing it to President Bush.
We only need to remember one name to put this all into perspective...
Cindy Sheehan
‘Nuff said...
We’re climbing into their sewer, where they spawn, and fighting them on their turf using their tactics. Next tactic, expose them for what they are; arrogant and corrupt.
Mark Silva needs to get back to worrying about more important matters:

You really haven’t been to the White House until you’ve seen the president growl at a dog.
PRICELESS!
I am so stealing that!
Working well, its all about selling an image, if it can sell the image of Obama as a dangerous lunatic hiding behind a mask and make it stick then its done its job.
Image counts a long way, if Obama continues to be mocked in this way it will go a long way into tearing down his little fiefdom and make him very vulnerable to attacks.
Its just about associating Obama as having creepy and dangerous thoughts. He did it often enough in the 08 election. What goes around................
Anyway, didnt see any of them objecting when they were portraying Buh as the Devil with horns.
Be my guest and be sure to distribute it freely.
STIR ON, ME HARDIES, STIR ON.
At some point, the dregs will come to the surface and can then be swept aside.
Such characterization should cause outrage by all but especially by anyone old enough to remember the "underground" press from the days of East Village Other, Berkeley Barb, and the several other anti-Establishment publications of the 1960s Marxist-Alinsky hippie street rabble. I did not agree with them but their, often over the limit, humor was keen-witted.
In those days we all accepted the true meaning of freedom. The Marxist-Alinsky hippie street rabble have had a generation to metastasize and arguably are now the Establishment.
No surprise of course.. now that the 1960s Marxist-Alinsky hippie street rabble and their ideological issue (children) are now the Establishment's Rat Party (formerly the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party) they will brook no opposition.
That ain't hippie.
(BTW it ain't name calling either. The Sixties Marxist-Alinsky hippie street rabble really have taken over the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party. Under the hail of "neo-con" taunts many Democrats fled the Party.)
