Spoof poster of Obama's face painted as The Joker branded 'dangerous and mean-spirited'
Daily Mail (U.K.) ^ | August 4, 2009

A poster depicting Barack Obama as Batman villain The Joker has been called 'mean-spirited and dangerous' by the U.S. President's supporters.

The image, which has been adopted by Mr Obama's critics, shows him wearing the white face paint and smudged red lips of the character most recently played by the late actor Heath Ledger. Beneath the picture reads the word 'socialism'.

The creator of the image remains unknown, but the website that first published the image crashed yesterday because so many had been attempting to view it. It has since been spotted in Los Angeles and Atlanta after it appeared in U.S. media.

The right-wing editor of the American Thinker website, Thomas Lifson, wrote today: 'It is starting.

'Open mockery of of Barack Obama, as disillusionment sets in with the man, his policies, and the phony image of a race-healing, brilliant, scholarly middle-of-the-roader.'

But the President's supporters have condemned the image, calling it 'mean-spirited and dangerous.'

A spokesman from the Los Angeles urban policy unit said that depicting the president as demonic and a socialist 'goes beyond political spoofery.'

The image comes as the President faces criticism over his plans to create a $1trillion healthcare programme.

Republican chairman Michael Steele first used the word 'socialism' in relation to Mr Obama two weeks ago as he slammed the President's attempts to push Congress into passing the healthcare reforms.

mean-spirited? It is either true or not.

Where's Dan Rather and his "fake but accurate" statement?

Yep, the shoe is on the other foot now, I stood 8 years of this junk. Let the Dems hope we throw him out and ease their feelings.

Oh, by the way, we’re just starting.

Wrong. We have to attack back. Passivity is what’s gotten us in this mess. Nobody likes having their own tactics used against them, that’s why you fight fire with fire. And we aren’t even proposing thuggery, just ridicule.

They said it like it was one word: Bushitler. I thought it was clever. It was conflating three words into one. Bush, s—t, and hitler. Terribly insulting, wrong, and untrue, but I had to give them credick, it was clever.

Lol, I think you invented the phrase, “Rules are made to be broken”.

You see why he has those big ears - that’s where he puts the beer!

I made a ‘frame.gif’, can be over or under, center is TP.

Its one of Alinsky’s rules. Use ridicule as a weapon. Its dangerous because they know it works. They used it on Bush, Reagan, Palin, Quayle, Gingerich, Nixon, George Allen, Rush, certainly, and God knows countless others. I say we ridicule away. We should tell Obama jokes by the boatload. Lord knows he provides enough material for it. Here’s my favorite Obama joke: Why doesn’t Obama ever make fun of himself. Because that would make him a racist.

I composited the /BHO/SOCIALISM-6.jpg over /EP/Starz.gif

Then composited /BHO/SOCIALISM-6.jpg over the result

That gave me a 3-frame .gif

Then Beer.gif composited to a final 3-frame /BHO/SOCIALISM-6.gif I just posted above

I still have to twist and warp the graphics methods to keep filesizes reasonable

.

Not in Iran 2 of the 3 trespassers are wannabee journalists with blogs

A dozen years in an Iranian prison may square them away

The 2 in North Korea were working for Al Gore - CurrentTV - ???

PR stunt Al?

Like bin Laden - somebody else wears the bombvest for algore

I’d let these jerks sit in jail -

They were warned in advance they were in danger and to turn back! - esp. the 3 now in Iran

If you are easily able to see a graphic image, than everyone can and you shouldn’t worry about further downsizing filesize.

I can’t recall if it was proved that the two young girls actually crossed the NK border or were abducted across?

I’m sorry. I hate myself, and I love President Bush, the last American president, but that is just damn funny.

.

I believe they crossed into NK on purpose

Another 10 million dollar book for Slick Willie - algore gets noticed, Hillary gets credit as does Obama

Obama would be afraid to fly into NK

As bad as Slick Willie is - Obama and algore would never dare fly into NK

-

Yeah - those 3 lefties are really CIA hippie spies

Looking for a big book deal back in the USA

Keep ‘em!

"....has been called 'mean-spirited and dangerous' by the U.S. President's supporters."

The left loves being mean, they live for being mean. They think being mean is it. I would take this as a compliment.

Problem here is, leftists think you are not allowed to fight back with any real psychological ammunition, and this puzzles them.

Do you know how often fire fighters “fight fire with fire”? Almost never. And the reason is that in most cases it would be counter productive.

It is just plan stupid to behave the way the MoveOn.org crowd behaves. When you stomp and scream, and make personal attacks rather than substantive attacks, you are validating and legitimizing that manner of attack.

MoveOn.org’s tactics are unamerican whether those tactics are used by the left or the right. Like it or not President Obama is our president, and for that alone he deserves our respect. We should show MoveOn.org that we are better than they are and how to be respectful even to those with whom we disagree, especially went they hold high office.

The left can't win on the merits, because their arguments have no merit, but the right cannot win by acting like the left. The right holds principles that most people believe in, but when the right behaves badly, it detract from our principles and push people away.

It's the slash and burn mentality that prevented us from selecting a good candidate for the presidency last year, and that resulted in electing Obama for president. If we don't ruin things, we may be able to vote him out of office in 2012, but if we if we keep acting like MoveOn.org, we may as well join them, because it will be just as if we are pulling the lever for four more years.
