WASHINGTON (AP) - Senate Democratic leaders are promising to push through a health care bill even if negotiations with Republicans fail.

Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said Monday there are contingency steps that will be considered as a last resort. Among the possible steps is invoking a legislative procedure known as reconciliation. Such as step is problematic because of its strict limits on what would be allowed in the bill and what wouldn't.

How can you hinder a bill when the Republicans don’t have enough votes to hinder it?

They’ve ALWAYS had the votes.

But this is a good thing for the Pubs, although I can’t stand the party any more... they’re useless and need to all be thrown out.

I have an idea. How about every single working man and woman in this country taking a little ‘RECESS’ of our own the day these clowns decide to vote on this POS bill? Try this one on: No phone service, no buses, no no electricity, no water, no cabs, no retail, no plumbing repair, no carpentry, no roofers, no construction, etc. Think that kind of ‘solidarity’ will get anyone’s attention?

This is not a slap at Republicans — this is a direct hit on the American people who do not want this plan.

The takeover of 1/6th of the American economy is within their Marxist grasp and they will let nothing get in their way...not Republicans, not their fellow Democrats and least of all the fools who voted for them and pay their salaries.

Congratulations America. You’ve really put your wiener in it this time.

So much for representative government. So much for bipartisan. This is as close to totalitarianism that the US has ever been. The majority of Americans don’t want what the democrats are cooking up, but they insist on pushing it though anyway. If there ever was a question about how the democrats view the public, that question should now be answered for everyone.

This is an excellent solution!

The Dem’s should have to live (or die) with the consequences, while Republicans can retain their current programs!

Ev en worse, how can you be for a bill that hasn’t even been written? That’s right, the Rats are FOR legislation that has no only not been read, the Senate version hasn’t even been written!

"Such as step is problematic because of its strict limits on what would be allowed in the bill and what wouldn't."

That's a joke. They will put whatever the hell they want in there, we will find out about it through the usual sources and cause a fuss for a week. The usual MSM sources will totally ignore, bury and lie about it, refuse to do any investigative reporting, and it will eventually cease to be even a minor issue.

Count on it. Rules, laws and regulations mean nothing to Dems in Office.

Given the very vocal opposition to the health care bill that is cropping up all over the country, you would think members of Congress would be very scared to vote for this monstrosity. Do they think that people will be happy to have this health plan shoved down their throats and have their taxes increased to pay for it? If Congress continues down this arrogant path a revolt is coming.

Another question should be asked at Town Hall Meetings. “What would you do if you found out, without a doubt, the American people don’t want a health Bill?” And don’t leave until you get an answer.

I hope the a-holes in the media enjoy their public health plans. I blame the MSM more than I do congress. They are more interested in propping up their empty suit idol than they are in reporting the details of the death care plan.

I suggest that we get a list of all corporate donors to Schumer, and go after them with a boycott of whatever it is they make or do. The only way to make these arrogant jerks listen is to take away their funding. I also suggest that the same amount of research effort that people have put into the birther issue should be trained on specific members of Congress and the Senate to determine what illegalities, if any, they are involved in. If they are doing things that are illegal, or ethically indefensible, the public should know this. It’s hard to be forgiving of people who are so arrogant they thumb their noses at those they are supposed to be serving.

Gotta love Congress —

They’re getting the calls from the constituents saying “HELL NO!”

They’re hearing at the (few) town hall meetings, “HELL NO!”

They’re getting bombarded with the message. The people are saying to 0bamaCare: “HELL NO!”

Yet, they somehow come to the conclusion that 0bamaCare is the righteous path. I hope voters remember this at the ballot box in 2010 and say to these Marxists, “HELL NO!”

Really? Are you trying to tell me McCain was a Republican?

I used to think like you, I even argued your point in the past here on FR.

But there comes a point when the structure is so overrrun with termites that you have to knock it all down, despite the fact that a few pieces of wood might still be intact.

Sure, it’s difficult in the interim when you have no structure for shelter and you’re building something new.

But continuing to throw money at something that’s irrepairable is foolish. The Republicans cannot be saved. The party is infested with statists.
