- My family is fortunate to know some people in the former DDR.
Whenever we get together, we always have great fun and one of the things these Germans love bringing to topic is when JFK visited Germany back in the 1960’s and told all of them he was a Berliner - (from Wikipedia;) “a doughnut made from sweet yeast dough fried in fat or oil, with a marmalade or jam filling and usually icing, powdered sugar or conventional sugar on top”.
