Northwest jet blows 5 tires on landing in Minn.
The Associated Press Aug. 2, 2009
MINNEAPOLIS -- A Northwest Airlines jet blew five tires as it landed at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, closing a runway for a few hours.
No injuries were reported in Sunday's incident. Fifteen employees were on the plane, but there were no passengers.
The plane landed without crashing or going off the runway, although one runway was blocked for the rest of the afternoon.
It's not clear why the tires blew. Metropolitan Airports Commission spokesman Pat Hogan says the pilot reported his brakes were overheating. Hogan says airplanes have dual wheels like semitrailers that provide stability if tires blow.
Hogan says the plane was arriving in Minnesota to prepare for future flights. It was being operated by Delta Airlines.

By blowing, the tires were just imitating Northwest’s customer service.

We don’t call them ‘Northworst Airlines’ for nothing.
Agree that US Air/United are a close 2nd. US Air charges you for just about everything and then inflight they peddle the credit card. Sick of flying, airports, TSA and bum airlines too.

Hey, you should have seen the Airbus 380 land at Air Adventure in Oshkosh. Slammed it on, a couple of bounces and major wing flex. Lots of blue smoke - Them computers get tired too.

Hopefully the probability of it happening twice in one month is astronomical. I have to fly into MN to fly into SLC to fly into CO to get to southern UT later this month for my sons wedding.
The things you will do for your kids. I was hoping I would never have to fly again now that I live “outside”
